Speakers seemed to be not working, so volume was horrible. Picture started jumping the first day the tv was delivered. Horrible purchase overall.

Developed a problem after 3 weeks

This is a decent 55" HDTV if there weren't any problems. The picture is excellent and the features are quite good for low priced TV. First thing I noticed about this TV was the sound. Sound from the TV just didn't sound clear especially when it comes to people talking. ft was kind of muffled. Eventually I connected a pair of Logitech computer speakers and it was much better. The second thing about the sound was the lowest volume setting is quite loud. It's a choice between complete silence to about 25% volume compared with other TVs. In other words, there is no low volume. Also when the volume is set to 100%, it's only maybe about twice as loud as the lowest volume setting. After about 3 weeks, the TV displayed a matrix of green vertical lines all over the screen when turning it on one afternoon. I unplugged the TV from the wall and the problem went away. After another week, the problem occurred again. The fix is still the same; just unplug the power. I thought that I might just live with it, but in the end I decided to return it. A TV should not be doing that even if it's able to fix itself by unplugging it. And the volume issue was getting annoying, especially when I watch TV late at night and my family is sleeping. I'm fairly certain that the volume issue can be corrected in the future with a firmware update. But so far, I have not seen any firmware updates from Westinghouse for this TV.

    Good picture, awful sound

I bought this set on sale and for the price, the picture is good. Although it's nothing that will blow you away, It's very clear and smooth. Despite this, the audio is unbearable. It sounds like it's coming from a tin can, and it's very muffled. Also, the remote did not work right out of the box. Luckily, my cable remote is all I need to actively use the TV, and was able to set the TV up using the buttons on the set. That being said, I will be returning this set and spending a bit more money for something of better quality instead of spending even more on a sound bar. If you already have a sound bar ready to use, this would be a good purchase.

    Great picture, horrible sound

I've seen lots of reviews on tvs and most of them say horrible sound. I've previously even bought a tv that was notorious of bad sound and I thought it was fine. The sound on this tv is just unbearable. I've tried to go through all of the settings to make it better but nothing worked. The voices are echoed and loud, especially in the back of the tv. I have the sound on the lowest possible setting right now and it still echoes upstairs. My wife has to keep the bedroom door shut. I will definitely be buying a sound bar. Hopefully that fixes the problem. All that being said, the picture is outstanding. If the sound was anywhere near average, it would be a 5 star tv. You can't beat the price.

    Sound is not good

We purchased this TV today and the picture is great but the sound is terrible. It sounds like you are listening to a cheap radio. We tried adjusting it but it doesn't get much better. Debating if we are going to take it back for a different brand or if we should try and get surround sound speakers.

Spend more for a better product

Spend more on a better quality product. I was hoping this would be as good as all of the past Westinghouse tv's my family has owned but sadly it's not. Picture quality isn't bad except for this grey tint/hue I couldn't get rid of no matter how many adjustments I made to the few settings it has. The menu is really weak and not many options in it. Also the sound from this is complete trash. Even at low volumes it becomes very distorted and is very hard to hear even turned all the way up. This is just a glorified monitor with an RF cable connection with terrible sound and picture. When I went back to Best Buy and told the tv guy the problems with this model he shook his head and said he knows about it and it's a common issue with these. I ended up buying an LG and am beyond happy with it

Great Picture, but sound is poor. How do you install a sound bar on this thing?

We picked this TV up and spent an hour hooking it up. We will be taking it back, the quality of the picture is poor. Shadows can be seen in the writing.
