Room for improvement in the woods of Sherwood
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A childhood classic comes to life in above average audio and video. I can't complain. This is a solid boost up from my dvd but still I felt theres room for improvement. This title is virtually out of print everywhere so I was glad to have found it here. I recommend it with confidence if you love swashbuckling adventure.

Extended Garbage Ruins Theatrical Version
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sadly this version is EXTENDED ONLY and doesn't have the theatrical version. The extended version is not anything you'd ever want to see about this movie. It doesn't add content that makes the movie better. Most extended versions don't, which is why I would have never bought this if it didn't also include the standard length version as well. We didn't watch the movie as soon as we got it and I didn't realize the return window was 2 weeks so now it looks like we're stuck with this. I would pay more for the standard version than buy this cheaper, extended version. Don't waste your time or money wondering what you've missed all these years, you didn't miss anything. Sadly my memory can't go back, and it ruined what I'd hoped would make the movie better for my 2 daughters.

Purchased as DVD Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned this on DVD, but as it had no special features at all, I felt the Bluray would be a good upgrade as it is an extended edition, with a few special features. I'm happy with my purchase, and enjoyed watching Prince of Thieves again. Improved as the quality was from DVD, I don't feel the upgrade was quite what it could have been, and the additional footage didn't really add anything to the film. I was curious to see Bryan Adams performing the song live, but it was an acoustic take (unfortunately). If you're a big fan of this film the upgrade is worth. Especially since it doesn't seem there is a 4K coming any time soon.

Still good storyline!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a movie we welcomed back into our home since getting rid of the video. The characters are excellent and we will enjoy watching it again and again. The only bad thing, we were not told anywhere that the DVD has to be turned over to finish watching it! So glad we figured it out after returning the first one and reordering.

Completely enjoyable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What it lacks in historical accuracy, it makes up in entertainment value. This fast-paced story plays Costner's Robin of Locksley as the straight arrow to Freeman's Akeem's dry wit. There is a faint touch of political correctness (by today's standards)in the script when Robin talks about his days spent in the Holy Land. But the movie starts moving in the right direction of the light-hearted yarn it should be by the time we see the budding romance between Costner and Mastrantonio's Lady Marian. Rickman's Sheriff of Nottingham is delightfully over-the-top and he plays a key role in the film's overall success. The extra features are a little disappointing in the lack of extra content, but Pierce Brosnan's narration of "The Man, the Myth, the Legend" TVSpecial and scenes from Bryan Adams' live concert footage brought back fond memories.
