Great Price Point But....
Posted .Ok, so after hunting high and low for a HDMI Wireless Extender I came across this unit from RocketFish. At $299 I felt the price point was great considering the competitions units that I found online run upwards of $400. My set up includes an Onkyo S785 that throws out HDMI for several components. I hooked up the RocketFish transmitter to the output HDMI of my Onkyo and the Receiver portion to my Panasonic TCP65-VT25 Plasma (great TV from BB), powered both units on, ensuring that I had my source selected (Satellite in my case) and waited, and waited and then waited some more.. the transmitter and receiver unit would not seem to handshake? The distance between the receiver and the transmitter is about 10ft, with clear line of sight. Eventually after turning on and off several times I got it to connect. My joy was short lived as when I changed the source from Sat to PS3 the unit dropped the connection (a huge flaw in the hardware in my opinion) and then tried to re-establish a connection, Which it would not do. I went to the Rocketfish website as directed by the product manual only to find out that the unit was not even listed on the site. I have tried using the unit for a couple of weeks now and everytime I try to use it it takes about 15 to 20 mins to get the thing to connect. I will be taking the unit back and may try another one to make sure I didn't get a bad unit. To summarize. Great price point and supports 3D (allegedly, but didn't get to try it). The units are very plasticy and not aesthetically pleasing to the eye (not like some of their Wireless HD audio products which look awesome) The picture quality is flawless when it works. But range appears to be less than stated on the box. I had mine at around 10 ft and as soon as I walked between the units the picture flickered on and off. Lots of connectivity issues. The unit should in my opinion also remain connected until you physically turn the unit off, not when you change source. Also they should really make sure they have the item supported on their website. I'll try buying another to see if I got a bad unit and update my review if I have better luck. Luckily i have Cat6 cabling in my walls and I know I can buy a wired HDMI extender for about the same price as this one online, so I may give that a go if this doesn't work. I'll keep my fingers crossed! I put would not recommend due to my own personal experience. I will change it if I get a unit that works.

Simple setup, Worked First Time
Posted .This was the a great out of box experience - in less than 2 minutes had a wireless connection between by Samsung DTV, a Panasonic BD and my notebook PC. I was able to switch back and forth as needed and got rid of all the cable clutter.

Easy out of the box setup and works great!
Posted .I wanted to move my cable box, blu-ray and DVD/VHS combo and my HDMI cables were too short and the thought of dropping $200+ on 12 foot cables was not appealing. I found this product at BB and took a chance. It was easy to setup, and I have the transmitter and receiver facing the same wall and not at each other. The picture and sound is great, even in HD. I also hope I can program my remote to replace the small IR remote that came with the setup and keep everything nice and simple.

Unreliable
Posted .I purchased this product because I needed an HDMI connection and could not run a cable through the walls. The distance is about 20ft across the room. This product was perfect for the application and thought my problem was solved. When the product was working the picture and sound were great from the 3D movies. The problem was it only worked about 20% of the time and took forever to connect. The receiver and transmitter were right in front of each other with no obstructions. Since the product was unreliable in my application I returned. I don't think the advertised distance is true in normal home environments. Looks like I will have to cut holes in walls. Why in the world did they not figure a way to transmit a video signal over components??? :(

Does not work properly as they advertized.
Posted .This item i had to return it 2 times, it does not work with any satellite companies(dish network or Direct tv) If you want to plug it to your sound receiver, it will loose signal in the middle of the program every 2 to 3 minutes its very annoying, the only way it may work if you plug it directly to the rocket fish receiver but i lost the 1080p to 1080I, many say does not matter but is a huge difference in resolution. No wonder they discontinued. Pay a little more and get the Air SyncHD by Brite View you will thank me later. I gave it 2 star just because the concept its great, wireless HDMI.

Waste of Time and MOney
Posted .We bought this wireless HDMI kit because of problems with the HDMI wire we had installed (either faulty or screwed through when drywall was hung). After setting it up and playing with the connection/positioning for about 30 minutes, it worked great! It also worked the next day. The only issue we experienced was when walking towards the unit connected to the box - the signal would be briefly interrupted. On the third day, it would not connect. We tried turning each component on in different orders, unplugging them, moving the transmitter within 10 feet of the receiver and it would not connect. At one point, we were standing directly in front of the receiver with the transmitter connected the the box in hand and nothing. We tried again last night (day 6) and it connected. Today, (day 7) nothing. We tried doing exactly as we did last night without success. This is going back to Best Buy. Its an awesome concept, i just wish it worked.

Sporadic video transmission
Posted .The picture quality transmitted by the unit is wonderful, however, the transmission of video is sporadic. I find myself turning the receiver off and on again to get the picture to transmitted. It is ideal if you have a wall mounted television and components in a cabinet and need to avoid lengthy HDMI cables. One plus is that the system can be programmed to work with a Logitech Harmony 1000 or 1100.

Solved my problem perfectly
Posted .Wanted to move my TV to the other side of the room and hang on the wall. Didn't want to pay a lot for an installer, or do it myself (cutting dry wall is NOT my thing), and long HDMI cables are unbelievably expensive. Picked this up yesterday after the $199 sale, $299 was a bit much for us. Works great, installed easy, now I have three more HDMI ports for whatever I want (my TV only has two, which were used up!) Switching time between the ports could have been faster, but all in works great and didn't mess up my WiFi or be interfered with by my microwave or baby monitors. Anyone buying a TV for superbowl, an easy way to get it connected really fast without running wires or other problematic things. Found out Dell is putting this WirelessHD into their laptops and now I have a receiver already waiting for the laptop so i can do wireless gaming!!! http://www.techalphabet.com/archives/1630

Q: QuestionIt works with my DVD player but have difficulty linking it to the satellite receiver. What would be the cause? And how do I resolve this problem?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It could be your using a HDMI splitter that's losing signal. Look into buying a high quality electronic splitter with one IN and multi OUT. Be sure to use HIGH quality HDMI cables.

Q: QuestionWill this work through walls/floors, or is it "line of sight"?
Asked by Richard.
- A:Answer This product does not work through wall/floors - it is a single room product. It is also not IR as stated in a different answer. It operates in the 60 GHz frequency range, which gives it the bandwidth necessary to send the entire HDMI audio/video signal with no compression or bit dropping. However, this frequency is not good at penetrating walls. The antenna array enables the signal to "bounce" off of walls and objects within the same room, which prevents the signal from being dropped when the line-of-sight path is interrupted.
