Enjoy nonstop entertainment with the Roku Streaming Stick+. Its wireless receiver provides a strong signal for smooth streaming in rooms far from the router, and it supports 4K, HD and HDR resolutions for crisp, colorful pictures. Take this compact Roku Streaming Stick+ with you on vacation for enjoying shows away from home.
Q: Why is the roku streaming plus better
A: There are 3 primary options available. The Roku Streaming Stick, Roku SS Plus, and Roku Ultra, with Ultra being the "best". The basic Roku Stick offers 1080 HD picture and has a smaller receiving range. While it still may receive a signal anywhere you place it in your home, it may be limited or spotty if say, you're placing it far away from your internet source. The other downside, (from what I'm told,) is the remote needs a more direct "line of sight" to register your inputs. Roku SS Plus features 4K picture with HDR. If you own a 4K TV, this is truly your option. Even if you don't and still use a 2K (1080) TV, this WILL still work, and will auto-detect your TV settings during setup. Also, its receiver is powered, so it will pick up your internet signal much better. Roku SS Ultra has all the features of the Plus, but includes an SD card slot and an ethernet port so you can connect directly to your internet, rather than via wifi. We recently began cutting cable, purchasing a TCL Roku TV, as well as a Roku SS Plus for my mother's apartment in our home. We spent a bunch of time ensuring that (with the purchase of the Roku TV included,) the money was well-spent. The TV is an EXCELLENT value, and when it comes to the Roku SS Plus, it was also an excellent purchase. My mother's TV is a 1080, and during setup, the stick detected it and offered settings to choose from, so compatibility is excellent. We've had this for a few weeks now, and there's been no issues. If you own or plan on owning a 4K TV, or if you have areas in your home where the wifi signal is not consistent, the Roku SS Plus is an excellent choice.
Q: Does this stick have the time warner/spectrum app
A: Yes, this is why I bought roku, it’s the only streaming device that I am aware of that streams spectrum.
A: Is a dynx.a smart TV and what the do
A: The roku comes with a short cord that allows it to be powered by the tv and a longer one approx. 4 feet for plugging into an outlet.
Q: Can I watch the local news and other local channels (i.e., with the regular antennae)?
A: Yes. Roku has an amazing app that lets you watch local news from all over the country. Usually two local channels per major market.
A: No, it is all included
Q: which roku device is best for weak wifi ????
A: Im new to this myself and really cant answer that BUT we ordered an extender on Amazon for like $26 and NOW we are getting wifi through out the house AND the garage!! I can give you the exact name of it if you are interested. Worked so good that when my daughter was here visiting she had me ship her one in Cali
Q: Does this plug into the hdmi or usb port on tv's?
A: You can plug the Roku Streaming Stick+ directly into your TV's HDMI port and connect the power transformer from the Roku to your electrical outlet. If you have an adequately powered USB port on your TV, you can plug the Streaming Stick+ into that and not have to use the power transformer that plugs into an electrical outlet.
