Breaks easy
||Posted .Owned for 10 months when reviewed.Got this for my kid. Overall it’s good, but the ear cups keep breaking. For $250, you’d think that it would be more sturdy. It’s not even a year old and this one broke.

Finally, a gaming headset for audiophiles!
||Posted .I've used countless headphones and headsets for gaming, Audio-Technica, BeyerDynamic, Sennheiser, Astros, HyperX, etc. Finding the right comfort AND stellar audio is really hard to find. I had been using the 2016 SteelSeries Arctis 5's and while they were super comfy, they lacked the punch and treble I was looking for, it sounded rather flat. Once I my new Arctis Pro w/GameDAQ arrived, I was able to set it up within minutes on my PC. The clamp force on the headset is a little more firm, allowing less of a sound leak in the ear cuffs. The super simplistic design of the ski goggle strap works wonders whether youre wearing a hat or not, alleviating the weight of the headset and reducing wear fatigue. The GameDAQ is simple to customize and navigate given the large knob and very legible LED display. The equalizer has presets but also allows you to set your own settings and it does not fail to deliver. Watching Netflix, listening to Tidal (for Hi-Res audio), and playing games like Siege and PUBG all welcomed the headset with open arms. There is literally nothing but love on this headset, you can tell SteelSeries wanted to offer something for those who really wanted a focus on audio in the days of graphics, graphics, graphics. The highs and lows are accurate and you feel it. The situational audio works flawlessly, you know whats approaching from all sides. (SteelSeries Software hasn't updated at the time of this review)

2nd best headset
||Posted .Owned for 4 months when reviewed.Listen I had these for 6 months they sound good not bad at all but you have to setup the sound yourself to get the best to hear footsteps which sucked I think I had it the best tbh I didn't find myself having issues hearing after setup and had no problems with it at all just compared to the astro a50s these are 2nd best

This headset is worth your time.
Posted .My experience is with PS4 Pro console. I have only gamed on console(all playstations). My experience with headsets are mostly with Turtle Beach products (wireless, COD edition ones), Sony Gold, and most recently, TB elite 800. I play, COD, Smite, Fortnite. I enjoy the sound aspect of games, how it develops what you see and how you play. I am not an expert audio head, just really enjoy "total emersion" into my gaming. My first experience with SteelSeries product. The headset feels so clean and worth the price. Simple button control on the headset makes for less fumbling around, or hitting something on accident. It is a very comfortable headset. I have a medium head size, (7 3/8 hat size), and never felt squeezed or uncomfortable. Setup was very simple. PS4 recognized it, and simple instructions off the DAC walked me right through the process. Take your time and play with the DAC. See what it does and doesn't do. Do the firmware update. You paid for the headset, get it right. Wires are a little wild out of the DAC, so make sure you clean it up. Cable length from headset to the DAC is shorter than I would have hoped for. If it is designed for PC AND console, it should accommodate for the length at which most gamers play from. The DAC itself, is simple and easy to navigate. The sound is tricky. You really have to take your time. The mix chat, the EQ, the new DTS upgrade, takes time to tweek. But the result is worth it. It is loud, it captures all the little details, (especially in Fortnite), and I was very happy with the result. I don't have stats or specific detailed spreadsheets to explain this headset. Just been playing games for twenty years, and this headset brings everything! Hi Res audio feature? Why not! Spares me having to get ANOTHER headset to do the same thing. Will you use it much, doubt it. But you have it!! Overall, the headset feel matches the price. The headset quality matches the price. The sound will match the price, once you tune it to what personally works for you. Only reason it is not a 5 star rating, the cord from headset to DAC needs to be longer. I got wired headset for a change of pace. Lights on headset, guess its cool, if i look in a mirror! Hope to really really enjoy this headset.

Don't waste $$ - Get the "Geek Squad" insurance
||Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Amazing sound! (while it lasts) I have had them a year and 2 months. The 1 year warranty just ran out & now the left earpiece has faint to no sound. Did all the troubleshooting but no help. I would def suggest getting the "Geek Squad" protection. These were over $250 & now I can't do anything with them. Categorized now as a waste of money :-(

Arctic FTW!
||Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This is by far one of the best headsets i have purchased in the last couple of years. They are comfortable to the MAX! The sound is amazing and so is your mic, so the other guys in the lobby say. This is one of the best headsets for console gamers if you ask me, dont believe me? Just try em out yourselves. Wont be going back to any other headsets, is a fact.

Q: QuestionWhy is this better than the cheaper option?
Asked by Jeronimo.
- A:Answer The DAC capability gives you better audio, however, it is really only applicable for music at this time, not playing games (games don't support Hi-Res audio on the PC or PS4). There are a lot of other features that come with that little table-top controller, but you need to ask yourself if it is worth it to you (equalizer, etc.) - they are handy features right at your fingers and you don't have to ALT-TAB out of your current screen. If you are planning on using this for music also, the DAC is a nice feature and probably worth it, but your standard Artis will do just fine if you are only interested in playing games. I have the DAC version, but also picked it up on a Black Friday sale, so it was worth it. If you plan on using it for the PS4, you will find the cables are WAY too short for playing on your favorite sofa or couch. They really made the cables for a desktop application. If you want to dump all of these issues and not have to worry about cables, get the wireless version - if your budget supports it (very expensive!). If you are using this for the PS4, it's still a good headset, but you'll want to get longer cables (they are not proprietary for the PS4).

Q: QuestionHow long is the cable to go from the DAC to the headset? Would i be able to purchase a longer one and still get the high quality sound?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It is a short cable. You can buy a longer one thru the steelseries.com site. I bought it, and it works perfect!

Q: QuestionIs the quality for the mic good? Will my friends think my voice is nice and clear? If not what wireless headset has good mic quality
Asked by Batch864.
- A:Answer Yeah I use it for my Ps4 and I think its great. It has options so you can hear your own voice and how loud to be able to hear it so you can adjust it. Best headphones I own to date. Hope that helps. You can check my stream if you like on youtube so you can hear what it sounds like. But everyones voice is different.

Q: QuestionWill it be ps5 compatible?
Asked by Monsssset.
- A:Answer Sony hasn’t come out with info on the PS5’s audio ports yet but even if it doesn’t have an optical port you can still connect the GameDAC to a TV that has optical. You can also use the gameDAC with a USB only connection to the console but you lose certain features like chat mix.
