Cult Classic 80's Canadian Comedy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bob and Doug (a.k.a. Dave and Rick) came up with a real winner when they put this one on the big screen. It is a good family comedy with no obscenities, nudity, or gory violence that provides consistent laughs as you follow the McKenzie brothers on their quest to foil Brewmeister Smith's attempt to conquer the beer drinking world.

Some classics never die!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Strange Brew is a comedy film about the life and times of Canada's own native sons Bob and Doug McKenzie. The McKenzie brother, portrayed by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas respectfully, are two unemployed white-collard stiffs that have an unquenchable thirst for cheap beer and quirky jokes. For those movie goers unfamiliar to the Bob and Doug McKenzie characters, their roots can be traced back to the late 1970's. Created by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas, Bob and Doug McKenzie became immensely popularized at the legendary The Second City Comedy Club. As one can imagine, by the time Strange Brew made its theatrical debut in August of 1983, the main protagonists were instantly recognized by a wide variety of people, especially by those who fallowed comedy. What makes Strange Brew so unique is its brand of humor. Moranis and Thomas both hail from Canada, aka The Great White North. As a result, there is a lot of humor that intentionally makes fun of, and mocks, various aspects of Canadian lifestyle. If your brand of comedy includes Cheech & Chong or Jay & Silent Bob, then Strange Brew is a must have. I definitely recommend this movie, so grab some beer, sit back and relax, and get ready to laugh.

Movie 5 Star Quality 3 Star
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First and foremost, this has got to be one of the best comedies ever. I remember watching this back in the early 80's and laughing so hard. To this day, it has been a movie that I highly recommend. Most of the time, as we grow older, are choices in things change, but this movie has stood the test of time. I had been waiting for a long time to see this come out on blu-ray. Pre-ordered as soon as I found out. Watched it first night it was released. As I stated the movie is hilarious; however, the video quality is not all that great. I understand that they probably released and remastered from a 30 year old print but there were at times too much graininess for my taste but I didn't let that take away from the pure enjoyment of the film. Would I highly recommend this movie on Blu-Ray? Yes I would for the pure and simple fact that this movie is hilarious. Now, take off you hoser.

Hilarious 80's Flick!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was one of my favorite comedies from the 80's but I hadn't seen it in years before I purchased the Blu. I was very curious to see how it would hold up. Thankfully, it didn't disappoint. I found myself laughing out loud at many of the same jokes I used to years ago. The picture is a bit lacking for a Blu, but it's not surprising given the date the film was made and the materials they had to work with for the upgrade. If you're a fan of Moranis, Thomas, and the McKenzie's, you can't go wrong with this one, Hoser! Now, take off! Buy your own!
