A 3rd chapter to add to your collection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They almost nailed it with this one, it has a blu ray disk for your home theater, a dvd for your laptop when your on the go and a HD copy if you have a fast internet connection. Additionally it comes in a nice steelcase which is always better and has a nice texture to the paint on the cover. The one thing keeping it from 5 stars is that there was no 3D version available, and i saw it in the theater in 3D so i know it exists. This is another flaw in the movie trends, you typically have the forced option to get the nice steelcase but no 3D disk or you can get the 3D disk but in a regular case and most likely it will not have a DVD and once again, Made in Mexico, there is no reason for why these cannot be manufactured here in the USA. The storyline is fair even better if you have watched the previous two films, this is one that is a good buy at a good price to add to your collection.

Great packaging for decent film, meh blu-ray
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchase this film at Best Buy on purpose - I simply want my collection to cohesively match, and I already had the prior two titles in the Divergent series in steelbook blu-ray release. Regarding this title, the packaging is excellent. It meets the same level of quality as the previous steelbooks (similar to the Disney/Marvel releases), which is to say that they are some of the better steelbooks out there. The case finish is a pleasant texture and isn't too reflective, so it just looks nice. The film has a bad rap, being the third in line, which is hardly a great place for most film series. I believe that it was a better entry than critics would lead you to believe. However, the tired dsytopian theme of not knowing which evil to pick is very prevalent, so if you have an aversion to that, you have been warned. Otherwise, it has no more significant plot holes than any other teen-becoming-adult-oriented action film, and does a fairly good job at creating an immersive, entertaining world in which to reside for roughly two hours. It won't likely capture you for much longer after that. NOTE: My biggest complaint about this release, and the primary reason why the rating isn't at least four stars (targeted at the studios and production, rather than this product itself) is that it doesn't have a 3D option at all. Divergent didn't because it almost didn't release in theatres in 3D, so they had nothing to give us without costly conversions. Insurgent got the full treatment, and is actually a good example of some very good (not excellent) 3D material. I love that the steelbook for that one included the extra disc. Allegiant, being the latest entry, had a 3D presence in the box office that surpassed the prior film, yet it has no 3D upon home release! Reasoning? Probably just that they're too cheap to port an existing 3D video source (essentially the same as what was shown in theatres, but with very minor differences in codec handling) to one additional disc for those of us who still care about the admittedly niche market of 3D in home threatre. But the cost savings of a dollar or two for a 3D disc in a premium steelbook package is really a shame, considering that almost everything else here would have merited a higher rating. But given the cost, this is a bit of a letdown.

As pertains to the series.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1>2>3. It is still a good movie. I watched it in the theatres and still purchased the DVD Blu Ray. It is worth watching, a couple timessage, but it is not as good as the rest of the movies. I'd like to see Tris grow into a heroine capable of being tough and superior. I'm tired of her being emotionally unstable and always a crybaby. I need some Tomb Raider, Underworld, Salt for that. It has a very Hunger games feel to it where she flails around wrapped up in her emotional instability instead of being the amazing savior bad... we hoped she'd become.

Allegiant- #3 in the Divergent series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a Blue-Ray pre-order; Best Buy came through exactly as promised, they notified me when it was ready for pickup, on the day specified. The pre-release sale price was very favorable. For Divergent fans, this third installment of the franchise is every bit as good as the trailers indicated, lots of drama and action. It continues the story from "Insurgent" with the post-faction struggle of the city in finding an identity and filling the leadership void, while answering what is beyond the wall, and adding a new set of characters to the mix. The special effects depicting technologies of the future leave you amazed, and wishing they were here now. The end is a cliff-hanger, leaving one eager to watch the final movie in the series, due out next year.

Fans be pleased!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a casual fan of this franchise, I went into this third movie with excitement but in the the back of my mind was aware of the less than stellar reviews this film got. In terms of the overall reviews of the movies has been a gradual decline so I personally wasn't expecting much, but I was surprised how entertained I was throughout, this maybe the fastest paced and action packed entry thus far and was gourgous to look at. It's a fun two hours to kill and the Blu Ray does not disappoint, the picture, sound and features are great.
