Very good album
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I think this double album is very good. The songs are really interesting with great melodies. The songs are very personal to Lucinda since she grew up near Highway 20. Some may find Lucinda's singing too gritty & raw, but I think her voice fits well with these type of songs & allows the listener to feel the emotions. I have all of Lucinda's albums. I highly recommend this album if you have enjoyed Lucinda's previous albums.

Another Meaningful Lucinda Recording
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a long-time fan of Lucinda Williams. Her recent prolific work is delving deeper into her Southern roots and life experiences. The musicians who support and backup Lucinda are excellent at delivering perfect accompaniment to her writing and music. This new release is a serious piece of music, not one for those looking for light-hearted pop music. The double album is filled with well crafted songs that will grow on you as you grow into listening to Lucinda's stories.

This CD of two discs is another great CD from LW. It is complication written about her roots of growing up in the south. It is a story telling CD with many great songs. Another fine album from a legendary artist
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lucinda Williams continues to be one of the finest songwriters and most expressive singers in the country/rock/folk idiom. Her powers are as strong as ever on this two-disc collection. To add to the excellence, this time she has jazz/Americana guitarist Bill Frisell on nearly every cut, playing alongside the equally proficient Greg Leisz. This album may be Lucinda's finest since the classic "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road."

Really good effort
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a Lucinda fan for years. This is a very solid album. Up there with Car Wheels and Essence. Great band and vocals. She does a nice cover of Springsteen's "Factory". Double cd, good value as well.

Lucinda Williams is back with a great record
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lucinda Williams is truly a singer to be marveled at, but is also a singer that you either love or you hate. Her gravely voice only gets rougher as she gets older and this two CD set highlights that growl. This is one of the most amazing recordings of her career.

Worth a listen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not her best work, but good. Maybe not for the casual fan as the lyrics are of a more personal nature, but if you like her music, I think you'll like it.
