Review of: 'The Interview'
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am glad I purchased this movie. I didn't want to be intimidated by anyone from letting me see it. The story is pretty good, but I could have done without the foul language. It does gives us a clear picture on how quality network journalism shows are often trumped by low-ball, trash-talking TV programs which gossip and one-liners drive their ratings to skyscraper levels over their competition. About ten percent of this movie consists of noisy party scenes where industry rivalries of boy meets girl, and first butterflies develop, which are more juvenile than those of mature adults. This doesn't add much to the plot. The actors, however, are good at their craft and the outside shots make the film worth seeing, even though it wasn't shot in North Korea, but in Western Canada. Get this movie because you believe in freedom -- and because you enjoy a good laugh.

Worth getting for any Seth Rogen/James Franco fan
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a true shame that The Interview never really got to see the light of day in movie theaters last year. Thankfully, at least it saw some form of release, allowing both fans of Rogen and Franco's brand of comedy along with those just curious to see what nearly started another world war to see it. The Blu-ray itself, even if you already own a digital version as I do, is still worth a buy. The picture quality and sound design is terrific, while the film itself is both hilarious and very rewatchable (I've already seen it four times). Even if you're not a huge fan of Rogen and Franco's past collaborations, The Interview is likely to earn at least a chuckle out of most who see it.

What was the BIG deal?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie was definitely not the funniest movie that James Franco and Seth Rogen has ever done, but it got all of the contorversary due to the whole political thing. I'm choosing not to draw attention to it in this review because of the overkill that it already received, but I will say it did have a few funny moments. The movie was better as a direct to video and it is ok to watch just to see, but do not go in with any high expectations.

controversial comedy done right
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the writers and directors truly had the balls when they conquered this story. it is excellently and respectfully done, and lines between reality and fiction are blurred, but it clearly is fiction. how they execute it, and the way it turns out, it seems that while trying to stay politically correct- given the controversial nature- they keep up the comedy, surprising you in some places. these true artisans deserve a shot at the movie

Silly But Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hey, it's Seth Rogen and James Franco trying to kill Kim Jong-un (an excellent Randall Park). That pretty much sums it up. It's silly, it's raunchy, it's surprisingly gory (only a few scenes, but still...), and it's fun, fun, fun. The disc is also chock-full of extras which add more fun to the whole endeavor. Plus, if you buy it, you show you love America and freedom — and that's no small thing.

the Interview
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, I must say I had no intention of watching this movie! It just didn't appeal to me - Seth Rogan & James Franco - didn't appeal to me - then my son had it on the tv while I was cooking dinner. I was drawn into the story and ended up really liking it! No one was more surprised than I was, when I sat down and watched this movie till the end....

Lived up to the hype and then some
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seth Rogan and James Franco are a hit or miss team... some of their movies being incredible, some being absolutely awful. Thankfully, this was the former rather than the latter. Despite all the hype and controversy surrounding this film, I am glad it got released. Amazing jokes, incredible acting, a character you love to hate, and a pretty great story line as well. I was hoping there would be a directors cut, but oh well. This movie as a comedy is great, but even more so as a stance against cyber terrorism... also a plus. absolutely rewatchable time and time again
