Great 4 movie Pickup for Great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found this 4 PACK dvd set in the $4.99 bin. I already owned the original on DVD but decided to purchase this because I do like the original trilogy very much. I hadn't seen the remake with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan until now, it is a surprisingly good movie. The picture quality is good on all four movies. The 4 movies are on 3 discs; Disc 1 The Karate Kid (special edition), Disc 2 The Karate Kid II & Part III, Disc 4 the Karate kid (smith chan) Surprised to open up the dvd package to see that they also throw in Ultra Violet digital copies of all 4 movies as well. Again a 4 dvd + 4 digital copies. for $4.99 encased in a single standard dvd box saves you space and money.

A must have for 80s fun films movie collection!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my sister's birthday gift, which she loved these films as a teen in the 80s. These films are fun and have a special place for us. My sister can watch all the films anytime. The fourth film is Will Smith's son which has nothing to do with the other three film series except for name only, but it's a different take. Ralph Macchio is the Karate Kid! Each film is good family fun!

3 Classic Karate Kid movies and the new one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This includes 3 Classic Karate Kid movies. That alone makes this worth the purchase. Now, despite how many felt about the new Karate Kid movie, I personally felt that it was not a bad movie. Many aspects from the first movie were repeated and this had many new aspects. They also did not try to recreate the Mr. Miyagi character. They instead, created a new character. So, while the new movie was not as good as the classics, it still had many positive aspects. However, I bought this for the classic versions and I give all 5 stars to them.

Karate Kid saga
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While this package does not include "The Next Karate Kid" with Pat Morita and Hilary Swank, it does include the 3 Karate Kid films with Pat Morita and Ralph Macchio. It also includes the 2010 "The Karate Kid" with Jaden Smith. The 2010 film was lavish in it's backdrops in China and Jackie Chan stepping into the role of mentor impressive, however, in comparison to the original films this one was much too violent for my tastes. Yes, there was violence in the original films but in the 2010 film Dre appears to be much younger than Daniel and while bullying in any form needs to be addressed I didn't enjoy the new film as much as the others. Note: While I would recommend this package it would be with reservations not only about the 2010 film, but the overall packaging of the DVDs.

A good comedy, series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is good comedy in these (original 3) series'. Not, slap-schitck. Rather, common sense. Also, comedy in the fact that a skinny and frail, kid wins against a much larger and stronger opponent. Although, the principles and applications (as taught, here) of, Karate-basics, are true (as used & referred to, in these series'), that is all they are....basic. Or, a foundation to real martial arts. This is not to degrade what it's shown, rather ONLY, to commend their use. The revised addition (with, Chan), uses the best approach (Wing Chung Kung Fu), in dealing with reality, and implementing the physics of true martial arts. Great disciplines are both taught and learned, in/with these series'.
