Q: Is there an outdoor mesh device that could be used to work with the deco system?
A: I created a dry box with an old plastic ammo can, a whole saw and some aquarium acrylic to seal the whole I made. Been running 2 m5 decos outside for a few years.
A: Hi! At least one Deco unit must be connected to your existing Archer AX73 network via Ethernet cable. The remaining Deco units can then connect to the primary unit via Mesh or Ethernet, depending on your preference. Please note the Deco X90 supports both Router Mode (default) and Access Point Mode. Please be sure to select the operating mode that best suits your network needs.
A: You would want to redo your network with the X90 as the primary router (or at least primary wifi node) and then add the Deco M5 units onto the network after that. Otherwise you will not get the higher speeds in the areas covered by the X90 units.
A: Hi! The Deco X90 is a Mesh Wi-Fi System designed to perform the role of a router in your network while providing seamless coverage throughout your home. You will still need a separate modem if your Internet provider/plan requires it, to use in conjunction with the Deco, since the Deco X90 is not a modem.
A: Yes, the Ethernet ports on the base or satellite units can be conveniently used to establish wired LAN connectivity for your devices. All of our Deco models are compatible with each other, so you can conveniently expand your Mesh Wi-Fi network at your convenience. If you like the performance offered by the Deco X90, you can introduce additional Deco X90s, or other Deco models, depending on your networking needs and/or preferences.
A: Hi! All of our Deco Mesh products are compatible with each other, and are conveniently expandable via the Deco app, so you can install as many Deco nodes as you need within your home (up to 10 max if exclusively using Wi-Fi Mesh backhaul - but higher than 10 if using Ethernet backhaul for some, or all units).
Q: Can on unit perform as a router and a second unit perform as an access point in the same network?
A: Absolutely! You can conveniently configure this via the Deco app.
Q: Can the primary/base unit (router) ALSO simultaneously act as an AP?
A: It cannot be both at the same time. Both units are identical. Can be either base or extender, but not at the same time.
