Q: will this work on PS5 or no???

A: Yes and no.... so you can use this to download ps4 games into your ps5 but once you try to download ps5 games into this unit it won’t allow you to do so. In conclusion only buy it if you plan to buy ps4 games for your ps5... or wait for a drive to come out that’s comparable with ps5 games

Q: I may have ordered this by mistake. Maybe someone can help me here? I’m looking for a hard drive that I can simply store MANY raw photos and files using my MAC desk top. Will this HD work for storage? Thanks

A: Hello! This drive can be formatted for macOS Extended or APFS file systems using Disk Utility. Personally, I would go for a solid state model if you're going to be putting valuable files on it because the failure rate on these 5TB drives from WD is pretty high in my experience (2/3 have died so far and once they start clicking and they get un-mounted they refuse to mount and the files are not retrievable without spending an hour and a leg on data recovery). If you want to offset data recovery costs, the solid state is more expensive up front for the dollars/TB but the reliability and speed are much better since there's less mechanical parts in them - which both may be of value to you when you're talking about photos and storing in raw format which are also considerably larger in size (this cuts down on transfer time significantly).

Q: What's the difference between the WDBA3A0050BBK-WESN (SKU:6385541) and the WDBA3A0050BBK-WEBB (SKU:6427863) models? Are these two separate and different models of WD P10?

A: The two models are the same. The BB stands for Best Buy so they have exclusive authorization to sell the WEBB. The WESN is the standard for all other distributors.

Q: Can this be used as an external HD for a PC/laptop? I know it says for Playstation but I want to be sure.

A: as long as you format it for you laptop then yes but if used for playstation then nope

Q: Is this an SSD? Can this be used for data backup with out playstation ? Just as an external Storage drive for PC?

A: No it is not an SSD. It contains a mechanical, spinning hard drive. Yes it can be used with a PC for backup or extra storage as it is a standard external USB drive.

Q: will this work with the xbox series x

A: Yes. It will work with the XBOX. It's a standard USB external drive and behaves like any other.

Q: Can you format this on the PS4 and then plug it into the PS5 OR format on the PS5 and then move PS4 games to the drive for playing on the PS5 later?

A: Hi, Sony added support for external USB hard drives on the PS5 with their April 2021 update. However, due to PS5 restrictions, games can only be played off the console’s internal SSD. As such, external USB storage hard drives only function as a faster way to hot-swap games and data on or off the PS5’s internal storage. -Need Help? Please see our "'Contact Us" page for information.

Q: Will this work with xbox series s

A: You would need to reformat it to NTFS using a PC. Then it will work fine as an external drive for an Xbox One/X/S.
