Q: What is the cost per print? Say I print out a 12 x 18 full-color photo quality print that I am selling to someone

A: Too many variables to give an accurate answer. Type of paper you are using etc. Some papers are going to require more ink, like sepia paper. The cost of the paper you are using, the colors, amount of blacks in the photo etc. Generally, I would use a cost basis of about $15 including the paper when I resell, it could be more, it could be less, but I think that is a pretty fair calculation for that size print. That would be for normal matte or glossy photo paper. Specialty papers will add to that cost. A full set of ink cartridges costs about $700, so it is not cheap. Reading other source comments, that gives you about 50-75 large prints. They are pigment inks, hence the cost differential. I have done a lot of research trying to figure out which way to go to replace my older printer. Haven't made up my mind yet, but leaning heavily towards this one. I just don't know how much profit margin is going to exist, because as you may well know, errors happen and reprints are necessary. Going to be hard to compete with big box print shops, but the one edge you do have is the archival quality they can't deliver. Hope that helps a bit.

Q: How often do I need to print to prevent the head / nozzles from clogging? Is it easy to clean and unclog the nozzles?

A: It's recommended to print once a week minimum I believe, but I try to print once a day just to keep everything working well.

Q: What is the largest size you can print with this?

A: 17"x22" paper. But with recent software canon released, it can now print 17"x40" panoramic with proper size roll/paper.

Q: Initial ink cartridge cost or is it included with purchase price

A: initial ink cartridges are all included!
