10 Stars!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, so that’s hyperbole, but seriously, this thing has changed my life. I am a writer and I’m old school, so I still write my first drafts by hand (in handwriting, you know, the stuff they no longer teach in school...). The Apple Pencil is perfect for this, and now my iPAD has finally successfully replaced my hard bound moleskines, a feat that I’ve been attempting for years but was unable to accomplish due to the lack of adequate handwriting ability with other styluses. There are abundant apps for this type of task, I.e. note taking/writing, and my favorite is Notability, with which theApple Pencil operates 100% seamlessly. I also use it to sketch on “Sketches Pro”, another excellent app for the Pencil. This thing is pressure sensitive and includes the capability to utilize the side of the pencil, as you would if you were lightly shading with a graphite pencil on regular drawing paper. I’m a little annoyed with the need for the adapter for charging, although you technically could (and I have) charge it through your iPAD lightning receptacle, but then you are using your IPAD power and can’t charge it while charging the pencil.....you see the problem. But it charges FAST, like I drive to work with it plugged into a charger in the car and it is 100% when I get there. So that’s awesome. And the charge lasts, sometimes for days, depending on use. I perceive (although I may be totally wrong) that it uses more charge on drawing apps than just writing notes. Anyway, I lost mine and had to immediately replace it, because the day I spent without it was completely disruptive to my work. I did add a silicone sleeve and a replacement lightning connector cap that functions as a regular stylus (the standard cap does NOT work as a stylus), which you can see in the photo (the sleeve is glow-in-the-dark...a great feature when I throw it in my bag and can’t find it later....). Got those through a certain online mega-retailer for next to nothing. If you think you want it, get the Apple Pencil. You won’t regret it.

This pencil is for you!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this Ipad pencil! I'm an illustrator and this is sooo necessary to produce awesome art. I've got 2 Ipads and 2 pencils because they both are game changers. You can draw with the pencil, color with it, WRITE with it...and its great for all ages, all levels. It opens a new artistic world. Pair it to your Ipad and start drawing...or writing. Use it with Procreate and a new world is yours!

Two different connectors from same company
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First my gripe, totally one me, but my gripe nonetheless: bought 2nd gen for newest iPad, only to discover it was only compatible with 1st gen pencil. OK, no problem will hold onto this since I plan to get a iPad Pro later this year. Go buy the 1st gen pencil for $10 more than the 2nd gen, wha?? OK, it was on sale so whatever, now get it home and take it out to sync it up only to discover you need a lightning to usb-c adapter to pair it the first time because…Apple. So a week after Christmas and my little one can finally use her “new” pencil.

Must-have for illustrators!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Probably the best stylus experience I've had as an illustrator. Great pressure sensitivity and tilt. Feels right in the hand. Of course, the charging is not ideal. You can either charge it with an adapter the pencil brings, or by connecting it to the iPad so it sticks out like a unicorn. Price is honestly quite steep, I don't advise purchasing this if you won't use it for art or anything that requires that pressure sensitivity/tilt. You can get by perfectly fine with a 20 dollar stylus for note taking or browsing the web. Be wary that if you use a matte screen protector, the tip will wear down incredibly fast. You can still use the pencil even with the tip worn down though, but if you want the aesthetic to stay intact, be prepared to spend on extra tips.

Not like any other stylus!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent input device for the Apple iPad Pro. It is not perfect in some ways but it is very good at drawing, writing and touch control of the tablet. Here are the pros and cons as I have seen them since my use of the pencil: • Excellent for drawing or writing • Excellent for reworking photos and doing graphic arts • When used as a touch control it is very precise when using the tip. I even like using it to read with and highlighting text in a book. • It comes with a spare tip that can be replaced. • It comes with a lightning adapter that lets you use a lighting cable to charge the pencil. • It charges quickly • You can vary the pressure or the slope of the pencil tip to adjust the darkness or the width of a stoke of a bush while coloring a drawing for example. • You can see the charge level of the pencil by pulling down on the daily window shade at the top of the screen and touching widgets. The charge level of your iPad and the pencil will be displayed.

I literally will not use my iPad without it. Super easy to use. You can also change the sensitivity to your preference. My most favorite part? Surprisingly a must have...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this Apple Pencile, which surprise the heck out of me. I thought for sure I was going to return it because $99 is a lot for a stylus. But that's the thing, it's not just a stylus. It's a pencil, pen, paintbrush, and highly accurate fingur replacement. I'm not the biggest artist, so art applies very little to the use of this to me. But I am a student that takes lots of notes. Now pair the Apple Pencil with the app Notability, and you have yourself one fine little note taking machine. So for students that hate carrying around 10 different notebooks and folders, just get the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, and maybe that sweet apple keyboard, and you are beyond set.

Q: QuestionDo you HAVE to use an Apple Pencil on your iPad Pro or will any type of stylus do?
Asked by murphy1620.
- A:Answer No you do not have to use the pencil. I have tried my iPad Pro with other stylus and they worked. The other stylus weren’t as responsive but effective.
