Worth The Money
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Bose's are a great option for PC or phone for work and play. The bass is brilliant, not over powering, deep and clear but only in sound cancelling mode. Pretty shallow without sound canceling. Highs are solid and clean. Do not work well in noise cancelling mode in a topless wrangler with the wind pressure and noise - they end up making a "pop" sound. No background hiss at zero volume in the quiet of a room. Can hear people talk when I turn the noise cancelling off. The volume and mute buttons work great with my Galaxies Note 8 and S10+ and works with a needed dongle for the Tab6 usb C port or i phone. Also good sound on the receiver's end I'm told on phone calls. The clip keeps the wires in while I work and takes the pressure off of the earpiece. Good Dbs for my slightly impaired hearing. The battery lasts several days. I'll throw it in the charger every few evenings. They do charge and work in noise cancelling at the same time though you might hear a hum if charging off a computer. The rubbery wire and 90 degree end work well bent along my phone and in the pocket. The shell also is hard and seems pretty durable. And ear-wise, they fit it in great without feeling like they will fall out and don't feel like a tight plug either; and I now have no discomfort after 10 hours but ready to take them out by then. It's hard to go back to my my JBL over-the-ears or Galaxy Buds+ for both sound and comfort and function.

Awesome, Just Awesome!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a very picky person, especially when it comes to great quality sound. I usually go with Beats, I had to recently replace my UR Beats because they were no longer working. I tried the Powerbeats2 wireless and I was not happy with them at all. After talking to a Best Buy employee she recommended the Bose. I decided to give them a try and WOW these are definitely keepers. The sound is AMAZING and they are sooooooo comfortable. I mainly use them at the GYM and they block out all the noise. I get lost in my music and loose track of time while working out! Buy them you wont regret it and buy the 2year protection plan too! Anything happens to them Best Buy has the best warranties out there, they give you a new pair, no questions asked!

Xbox Audio, Cool & Comfortable
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Call it overkill. My wife did… I got the Bose QuietComfort 20 Headphones (Android) to use with my Xbox. Over the years, I’ve used wired and wireless headsets from Astro, Turtle Beach and HyperX. They were all the standard over-ear cans. I got tired of the headset-head (you know that ear-to-ear dent in the hair) and blazing hot ears after gaming for any length of time while wearing an over-the-ear headset. I’ve read that the Apple version of these headphones doesn’t work with in-game voice chat and that the headphone jack pinout is different for Apple vs. Android, so I was sure to get the Android-spec product. They plug right into the controller and just work. Getting to the point, the Bose QuietComfort 20 are very comfortable and sound great. The (excellent) noise cancelling can be turned on and off with an inline switch, but it’s been my observation that, in addition to reducing outside sound intrusion, it also boosts in-game sound. Everything just sounds better. I mostly play multiplayer shooters, and I really appreciate the directionality and perceived sense of distance to a sound (i.e., how far away was that footstep/gunshot). I’ve tried both the Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos surround sound options offered on Xbox and prefer Dolby’s effect. I’m told that the mic sounds fine. Bose StayHear headphone tips: I’m keeping these because they are easily the most comfortable in-ear headphones I’ve used. Seriously, they’re all-day comfortable. I have some wired earbuds from JVC and Sony and gave them a try. While they sounded okay, the snug in-ear canal design of the silicone tips became uncomfortable. The Bose StayHear tips are made from a super soft silicone and have a cone shape that rests comfortably against the ear canal opening, as opposed to in it, and does a good job of passive noise reduction which only improves when noise cancelling is turned on. The active noise cancelling is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It charges in about an hour via USB and lasts for hours of use. It can be used while charging. To preserve battery life, the circuit can be turned off while not in use. I tried a couple of Bluetooth transmitters with my true wireless earbuds (Samsung and Bose), but it introduced an unacceptable audio lag, so wired it is. As a bonus, the QC20s also sound terrific with my phone whether in a call or listening to music.

Noise canceling great on plane and train
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is actually my second QC-20i. The first one I got for myself. Within a few weeks, I purchased one for my wife for our return cross-country trip. My daily commute consists of two, sometimes three, modes of public transportation--commuter train, subway, and sometime light rail. These do a fantastic job of canceling most ambient noise which allows me to listen to the music comfortably. The sound quality seems better than my high-end ear buds I had been using but I think some of that is because there is no competing with other sounds. I wanted to get an over-the-ear model. The Bose model outperformed others in the noise canceling department but I got spooked with reviews on how the Bose model eats through batteries. This in-ear model recharges quickly and holds a charge many, many hours even in "quiet mode." What I was surprised about--and in a good way--was how good it was in the "aware mode." Unlike my ear buds (or with these simply turned off), I can here surrounding noise in the background pretty darn well. I found this useful when walking the streets of DC, when I wanted to hear what was delaying the train this time, or if I wanted to hear the ocean in the background at the beach. Very clever design. I was also relieved these are quite comfortable. They come with three sizes. I needed the large; my wife the small. With the high-end ear buds, two or three hours was my limit. On the entire trip to LA, I never took them out except to be polite to the stewardess--which was unnecessary on "pause" and in the "aware mode." The only area where I would nick these on rating is when I'm using them with my iPhone 4. The controls work fine and I get the same positive results as with my iPod and iPad. However, my wife had some difficulty hearing me when I was talking to her on the way home from a commute. She has not experienced this problem, however. I don't know if it is because she has an iPhone 5 or if it is because I was talking from an area with high level background noise. My guess is the latter, so I couldn't nick it a full star. Maybe I would give it a 9.5 out of 10 if that were the scale. On the trip to LA, I was blissfully watching DirecTV almost completely unaware there was the proverbial baby crying. When I tuned back into reality for landing, the first words my wife said was, "I can't wait to get off this plane and away from all that crying." My wife usually oohs and ahhs over everything less than two years old so it must have been bad. I was aware a little bit because people were taking turns walking up and down the aisle to calm the child down. That's when I knew what to buy for my wife for her birthday. No in-flight TV for the return trip but we were both lost in our music. (And, yes, there was another baby.) Best Buy doesn't sell this but Bose makes a wall jack for charging (comes with the cord to charge through your computer) and an airline jack. It might be worth going to Bose for one or both if it suits your style.

Pricey and Worth EVERY Penny
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned almost every version of the Bose QuietComfort headphones. Even compared to the most recent version, the QC15, the new QC20 is absolutely the best! The noise cancellation has been taken to another level... it blocks out even more noise than the QC15. The QC20 will also play if the battery is dead, which none of the previous QC headphones would do. I also prefer the in-ear style of the QC20 instead of the big clunky over the head style of the older QC headphones. The older style was comfortable, but if worn for long periods of time would make your head warm due to the foam used. I have been impressed with the battery life on the QC20 as well... I am getting close to the 16 hours Bose claims. Plus, it recharges over a standard micro-USB cable! Thank you, Bose for not making a proprietary charging cable!!! I'd like the carrying case to be a little nicer, considering the price. It is just a neoprene pouch. Something that held the pieces in place and wound the cord would be nicer for this much money. This is a pretty small complaint, though. Speaking of money, yes these are expensive. They are the same price as all the prior versions of the QC headphones, so I'm not really complaining. After a few months, you may be able to pick up a refurbished version somewhere if you want to save a few bucks. I find the StayHear+ system Bose uses to be very comfortable and stable. I was able to get a good seal and they fit great for me. Three suggestions for the next version of this product: 1. Wireless - Bluetooth would be great!! 2. Sweatproof - please coat these using one of the new water/sweatproof nano-coatings 3. A better carrying case

Sounds good and the ANC is better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality is good and the ANC is better than expected. Typically, I fing that earbuds are not comfortable especially after a couple of hours of use. These ear buds are very comfortable even after 2 hours of continued use. They come with three different sizes of inserts that should be no problem to find your correct size. I used this while doing yard work and mowing the lawn and was still able to hear the music the whole time. I could hear the lawn mower but, it was signifficantly reduced and was not an issue for the earbuds. The battery life is really good and I really havent timed how long it would last. I consider the rechargeable battery life a non issue and even if it does go out, you would only lose the ANC feature. The sound is balanced and could probably use alittle more base. I know that these are just ear buds and if you expect deeper sounds go with the over the ear. My only real complaint and one star removed is becuase the lenth of the audi jack cord is too short. The short lenght between the battery/ANC block is about an inch and a half which makes using this in your pocket a challange and alomost takes away the portablity factor and hopefully does not reduce the life of the cable.

Perfect for traveling
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these to take with me on a trip to China--easily the noisiest country on earth. The sound and noise canceling are perfect for planes and metro, alike! With the "aware" button, I don't have to take the extremely comfortable headphones in and out--and with their unique shape, they fit extremely well in my ear. The sound quality for phone calls is great, both hearing and speaking. The battery pack is slim and lightweight and though I wish it didn't have to have one, it is fairly easy to slip it into my pocket with my phone. Expensive but well worth it.

Q: QuestionRE: noise cancellation quality when not listening to musicMy main purpose for buying noise canceling headphones is not to listen to music without distractions, but to have peace and quiet while not listening to music. Peace. Quiet. No music, either. So, how well does the noise cancellation perform when not listening to any music? When not listening to music, will conversations be blocked out? Or, do they perform better with reducing noises like air conditioner units, subway sounds, but do not do well with blocking out human speech?
Asked by NoisyUpstairsNeighbors.
- A:Answer I found that voices will be muffled, but will still be able to hear them. The other incidental noises will be cut out. For example, on an airplane, when I turn them on without listing to any music all the sounds of the airplane itself go away, but unfortunately you can hear a baby crying or a loud passenger talking. It does reduce those sounds, but you can still hear the people and baby. When it gets like that, I put some relaxation music on really low, just enough to block out the voices and it seems to work.

Q: QuestionPlugging jack into devices -- or not -- for just using noise cancellationIf I just want to tune out my obnoxious upstairs neighbors and not listen to any music, can I simply turn on the noise canceling earbuds without plugging them into my iPhone (or any other device)? Will the active noise cancellation still work if not plugged into a music player or other device? My primary purpose will be noise cancellation (not music listening) and I want something I can comfortably wear around the house -- without always needing to be tethered to my iPhone -- while I count the months until my lease expires. Thanks. ... and never rent a downstairs apartment.
Asked by NoiseyUpstairsNeighbors.
- A:Answer Yes you can use the noise canceling by itself without having it plugged into a device. I will warn you however that when there is no sound coming out of the headphones and the noise canceling is engaged, there is a very quiet but noticeable hiss/high pitched whine that can be heard without some form of sound covering it up. Depending on your age you may not be able to hear the quiet whine, but you will probably notice the hiss.

Q: QuestionHow many charges/recharges?I noticed one reviewer indicates that the headphones are only guaranteed to recharge 500 times. Is that accurate? What happens after 500 charges?
Asked by readycat.
- A:Answer Hi Readycat. That is a great question. The QuietComfort 20i battery is rated at 500 charge cycles at 80% capacity and will last for many years. Over time, the amount of charge the battery can provide will go down. One charge cycle is equal to every 100% of the battery power being used. Whether you run it from 100% to 0% and then charge it, or let it run from 100% to 50% twice charging it in between, that is still only one charge cycle. What that means is that after 500 full charge cycles, the battery will still be operating, but may only have the ability to provide 80% of what it did originally. We hope that helps!

Q: QuestionCan these be used with iPod, Android or Windows?Im a rare bird here, I have a iPod for my music I have a Nexus 7 tablet which runs Android and a Nokia Lumia 1020 phone which runs WP8 OS. My question is can I listen to all of these devices with just one pair of these headphones or do I have to buy the iPod/Phone/Pad for that and the Android/Windows ones to work with those?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Thanks for your question. If you plan to use a mix of Apple and Non-Apple devices, the standard QC20 headphones would be your best choice for a single headset to work with everything. The QC20i is designed with exclusive volume controls for Apple products and it may or may not work correctly on Android, windows or other mobile devices. The QC20 would have no problem working with your Apple devices also, however.

Q: QuestionUse while charging?Would it do any harm to the battery or electronics to use them while charging?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Great question! The QC20/QC20i headset can be used safely while the battery is charging. You may get some noticeable background noise if you attempt to play audio from the same computer you are currently charging from, but this not harmful to the headphones. Because this noise is undesirable, we do not suggest charging from the same device you are currently using to listen. Hope this helps!

Q: QuestionQC 20 - Android or Samsung versionI see that there's a QC 20 version for "Samsung Galaxy Devices" which is $299 and a QC 20 version for "Android, Windows, and Blackberry", which is $249.99. People commented under the reviews for the Android, Windows, and Blackberry version that it has full functionality with the Galaxy Note. if this is true, what is the difference and what would be the reason to pay the extra $50?
Asked by Jason.
- A:Answer The QC20 version for "Samsung Galaxy Devices" is the series II version of our noise cancelling in-ear headphones whereas the QC 20 version for "Android, Windows, and Blackberry" would be the series I of this model. This would go some way to explaining the difference in price as one product is the "previous" version of the headphones. Another significant difference between the series I and series II headphones is the addition of an inline mic and remote in the latest version allowing the user to control various functions of compatible Samsung Galaxy devices. The previous version has an answer/end button and mic only. With regards to the reported incidents of some handsets having full functionality with the older version, we simply could not guarantee this level of functionality with all Android, Windows and Blackberry handsets due to the difference between different models. However it is possible that some of the functionality of the inline mic and remote would work on a handset that is not officially supported. We hope this helps - Bose Support.
