Best wearable tech out there
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1 year battery? WOW! I have owned a Jawbone UP and nike fuelband before and even though those are nice trackers, the constant recharging you have to do weekly can be a chore. And they normally need charging at the most inconvenient times too. Leave it on the charger for 3 hours or so and I find myself accidentally leaving home with out it. So here comes the vivofit! A year battery life and it also tells you time?!?!? SOLD! The vivofit's size is very similar to the UP and the Fuelband. Its only slightly larger to make room for a screen. I'm a regular watch wearer so the vivofit actually replaced my daily worn watch as well. Before, I would have to sport both the UP band and my watch on the same wrist. I'm very satisfied with what its suppose to do. The app is something that needs a bit more work from the developers. Its not as nice as the UP or Nike's app. The sleep tracking in the app isn't as robust as the UP's. If I could rate just the app on the iphone, I would rate it 2 stars. Another bonus is that you can switch out the band's color to match your mood.

I love the Garmin Vivofit.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Garmin Vivofit not only is a watch but it is also a pedometer and tracks my sleep as well as it can also be worn while swimming. So far I've not had to replace the battery either.

Easy to read during daylight.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was easy to figure out a preteen is wearing it and it is holding up well which I appreciate. My one criticism is you can't read it in the dark.

Great fitness band/tracker!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This fitness band/tracker has most of the features I want in a fitness tracker. I've had 2 fitbits and several basic step counters before buying the Vivofit band. After several years of counting my steps and using these products, I now have several features that are important to me when considering buying something new. I like to be able to see some of my data on the tracker itself (and not just on a phone, tablet or computer). I also was not happy with having to charge it. I would often forget to take it off the charger and would not get "credit" for an hour or a day's worth of steps! Probably shouldn't be a big deal but it is to me. I like that Vivofit has a replaceable battery that you can replace yourself AND that it supposedly can last a year or longer! I also want a tracker that can track sleep. The one feature I wish the Vivofit had was the ability to not only track "total sleep time" but to also break it down to "actual sleep time", like the fitbit does. Fitbit will take out time that you are awake/moving around and show you how much time you actually "slept" out of the time you were in bed trying to sleep! I hope Vivofit will add this feature. As it tracks when you are moving around, it could be developed to track this information. I also like that you can push a button on your band that syncs your data to your phone! One other feature I would like to track is "floors". It's not a huge deal but I did like seeing that info with my fitbit. Last of all, I love having my device in a "band". My fitbits were not the band type but were able to clip to clothing or be worn in a pocket. That was ok but I would forget to remove it from clothing and that would affect the accuracy of my steps too. I also did not like the wrist bands that fitbit provided to hold the device while sleeping. They did not work well. Having a band you can leave on day/night is a huge benefit! I've had the Vivofit band for a month or so now and have had no problems so far.

My 8 year old loves it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my 8 year old on her birthday and she hasn't taken it off since I gave it to her, 21 days ago. She loves it! She swims with it, showers with it, wears it to school and sleeps with it on. I have it synced with my phone. I really like that it tracks her sleep. I found it very interesting to see how many hours she sleeps each night and when she gets restless through the night. (which I have found to be every night about 12:30 and 3:30am) Now that she is back at school I like seeing what times of the day she is most active. I don't look at it every day, but I just think it's interesting. She likes looking at her steps. We don't focus on calories burned or anything, she's a kid! But she thought it was cool to see that she walked/ran about 1 mile at her soccer practice the other day. A couple of her friends had either a Garmin or a Fitbit and she really wanted one too. I chose the Garmin because it was less expensive (I didn't know if she'd actually wear it) because it looked more durable (which it has proven to be) and I liked that you could see the number of steps or a clock on the face. Overall I would recommend this product. It has held up great.

Q: QuestionHow does the Garmin vivofit compare with the Fitbit?Accuracy, technological capabilities etc?
Asked by Sam.
- A:Answer The Fitbit app syncs quicker and easier than the Garmin Connect app. Both track mostly the same info. Fitbit is more encouraging and fun by popping up badges for meeting daily or lifetime goals like "Impressive! You have walked the length of the Serengeti, one of the seven wonders of the world" when you hit 500 miles over the life of using the Fitbit. If you want to track food eaten, you can do that easily in the Fitbit app but the Garmin app had to be linked to another app like My Fitness Pal. My Fitness Pal (MFP) app has a better database than Fitbit with the added benefit of a barcode scanner which I've found to be the easiest, quickest way to enter food. Just scan the barcode on the box or can and it will pop up with calories for a single serving as well as nutrition information. If you consumed more or less than a single serving, both the Fitbit and MFP let you change the amount of servings you ate. And MFP can be linked to Fitbit to be used instead of its food diary if desired. I have accidentally run my Fitbit Zip through the washing machine twice and dryer once with no ill effects but haven't trusted it to a day at the waterpark. The Vivofit 2 claims it is waterproof so I do wear it for days at the waterpark and it has no problems. Waterproof was main reason I bought a Garmin. I haven't tested either for accuracy as I'm not too concerned whether I really walked 8,000 steps or 7,800 as long as I'm moving as much or more than the day before and both seem consistent day to day. Love both products but each are better than the other in different areas. Unfortunately no tracker does it all best so you have to decide what you prefer most.

Q: Questionvivofit - does it use gps to determine distance
Asked by foster.
- A:Answer No it does not. You put in your height, weight, and steps per foot and the device calculates the distance for you. It has been pretty accurate.

Q: Questiondoes this device track cycling
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Not very well at all, no. When I wear it for my rides, it catches maybe a third of the actual movement. It is designed specifically as a pedometer, and works very well in that capacity. If you cycle more than anything else, you'll want a fitness tracker with GPS, so it can accurately track the distance you ride.
