- A: AnswerI think it's personal preference. I ran mine for about 6 months without a filter didn't have any problems but I was using City water .If you're using well water there are a lot of minerals in it . I would probably use a filter. It will definitely take the impurities out of water and make your coffee taste a little better. If you have trouble installing it. I would get on YouTube and look up. How to install Keurig filter There are a lot of videos on YouTube for Keurig

A: AnswerThis fits right inside your Keurig 2.0 brewer water reservoir. Also it is much more less expensive to purchase it from BestBuy! For use with Keurig 2.0 K300/350, K400/450/490 and K500/550/590 brewing systems. Not compatible with Keurig K-Cup, Rivo, Vue or Keurig 2.0 K200/250 brewing systems. It is a flimsy thing too.
