Great keyboard!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll echo the sentiment made in a previous review. I have no idea why I waited so long to get this keyboard. I don't game anymore so my take is solely from a typing perspective. Now I'm a product of the late '70's and early '80's so I am very familiar with those mechanical tanks we used to type on. Now, the typing experience with this K840 is not exactly the same but it is definitely paying homage to those old beasts in an updated way. The keys feel authoritative and precise. The mechanical action is not overly firm and the travel is perfectly measured. Anyway, I highly recommend it. An absolute joy to use.

Posted .Thank you for your feedback. The mechanical switches are a typing delight, with better feedback, actuation, and they super solid and quite on this model. Thank you for choosing Logitech, enjoy!

Awesome starter for games.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first, I was skeptical, but after trying it, it's been an awesome experience. It's durable, so it handles my strong taps fine, yet the keys are pronounced and easily accessed, so I can fluidly type of I want. Best place to start for heavy typers and/or gamers!

Positive physical & auditable keystroke feedback
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can feel the sturdy quality in both tactile and operational perceptions. It does take some getting used to the height of the key positions. Because they seemingly extend above the keyboard they tended to feel awkward at first, compared to a standard keyboard.

I returned my personal one but got this for my job
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the keys came with plastic sticking sideways at the bottom, and made noise whenever using it or its neighbors. It was an injection molding imprecision, and I filed it down. Releasing keys produces a metal string-like resonance sound and reverberations, potentially because of the resonance with the metallic top surface, I don't know. I got used to it. Pressing hard on a key will actually DEFORM the platform, which you can bend back and forth with just your thumbs and index fingers. This was unexpected for me, to have a metallic keyboard, but at the same time not elastic like steel would be. This keyboard is still an improvement over a $30 DELL that I had had at work, it just has the quirks that I've described. I got it on a 25% off sale, and still think that I paid an extra $10-20 just for the Logitech brand.

Great Economic Mechanical Keyboard
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned WASD, Ducky, Razr BlackWidow. Honestly, I paid 100s for those keyboards. Got this keyboard for < $100 ($60 to be exact) and for that price you can't beat this. The keys very similar to a Cherry MX Blue but slightly softer. They have a "mushy" feeling that I've grown to love after working on a "clicky" WASD for a couple years. It's sound is very pleasing.

Mechanical keyboard at an awesome price point.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was shopping around for a new keyboard after my old one quit on me, (my own fault, spilled some coffee on it. RIP Keyboard) and I wanted to try out a mechanical keyboard. WIth most "Gamer" keyboards costing upwards of $100, this seemed very affordable, and the build quality is definitely sturdy. It doesn't come with macro recording or any fancy features Razer might include, but it does a very good job and I think I'm sold on mechanical keyboards in general. So long, membrane!

The best keyboard for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this keyboard for around $65 and it is absolutely fantastic for the price. I have a Logitech G810 at home I use for gaming and I use this K840 for work. I actually enjoy typing on the K840 more than the G810 due to how the keys are designed to sit on top of the chassis instead of inside the frame as on the G810. If you can get this for around $70, it is the keyboard to beat. I personally love Romer-G switches and even prefer them over Cherry switches now. I used to be Cherry MX Brown all the way until I started using Romer-G switches. I will probably never use another keyboard than Logitech's Romer-G keyboards. The K840 is a steal for the price. I absolutely recommend this keyboard. It is also quieter than Cherry MX switches as well as having shorter actuation distance. This makes typing quicker and quieter than any other Cherry switch, even the Cherry MX Silent.

Q: QuestionIs anyone else having an issue with the space bar sounding like tin or having a more cheap metal sound that the rest of the keys? I even took it off and put it back on but that didn't change anything.
Asked by ErrolNiel.
- A:Answer This is a common "issue" with this keyboard due to how it's designed. I personally don't mind it but some people may. However, it is nothing to worry about.

Q: QuestionDoes this keyboard use the romer-g switches like the g413? If not what kind of switch is it?
Asked by Gamer.
- A:Answer Hello, the switches on the K840 are Romer G's.

Q: QuestionI have a keyboard now, (E-Machine), and the keys are on springs. I see that Logitech K840 seems to be like that. I have a hard hand, (female), and cannot type on "flat" keys from way back., so, it looks like these keys are what I'm looking for. Right?
Asked by springykeys3.
- A:Answer I think this should do the trick for you. The keys on the K840 have a slight concave to them so your fingers fit nicely. Also, the keys have a nice spacing so you shouldn't have too much difficulty distinguishing between key caps.

Q: QuestionSo My Space Bar does this weird thing where it sometimes respond and sometime don’t and when it does respond there is a chance of it double spacing. I don’t know if it’s the exterior or the interior problem like the key cap or the parts inside?
Asked by Tao.
- A:Answer Hello, we are sorry to hear about your issue. If your space bar is sticking it may be that the keyboard needs cleaning: Cleaning Logitech keyboards and mice Before you clean your device: Unplug it from your computer and make sure it’s turned off. Remove the batteries. Keep liquids away from your device, and don’t use solvents or abrasives. To clean your Touchpad, and other touch-sensitive and gesture-capable devices: Use lens cleaner to lightly moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe down your device. To clean your keyboard: Use compressed air to remove any loose debris and dust between the keys. To clean the keys, use water to lightly moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe down the keys. To clean your mouse: Use water to lightly moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe down the mouse. NOTE: In most cases, you can use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and anti-bacterial wipes. Before using rubbing alcohol or wipes, we suggest you test it first in an inconspicuous area to make sure it doesn’t cause discoloration or remove the lettering from the keys.

Q: QuestionIs it possible to test the keys of the mechanical keyboards at one of your 2 stores in Manhattan? Thanks.
Asked by Adela.
- A:Answer Sure! If it's on display!

Q: QuestionWill this work with Apple Mac?
Asked by MsMaybe.
- A:Answer Yes but the "Windows" key will be used as the "command" key for mac. A slight difference but they function the same. I pretty much only use Windows keyboards with my Mac because no one makes a decent mechanical keyboard for Mac under $100
