Tough for small hands; need large/clear workspace
Posted .Pros mentioned:Comfort, Ease of useCons mentioned:Difficult, Movements, ScrollingPROs: - If you're coming from another vertical mouse, you'll find this one pretty comfortable to hold--the soft-touch plastic and nautilus shell finish around the curved trailing surfaces is really quite pleasing in the hand - Very responsive to minimal input with DPI settings at/near max--easy to limit wrist movements via software settings in Logitech Options app - Deep customization options for thumb/click-wheel buttons--you have a variety of pre-programmed shortcuts and actions you can execute - Quick and easy connection to Logitech's wireless unifying receiver--I already had one installed for my current mouse (MX Ergo Trackball) and it was online within seconds of powering up--adding the device via the software "Add Device" button allowed for customization of button shortcuts and DPI settings. - Takes some getting used to but definitely can aid in reducing wrist strain if you have your work area set up properly - Incredibly fluid and responsive left/right click buttons--minimal effort and button travel required for a click but the mechanical switch still provided some solid haptic feedback that the "click" was registered - Extremely light weight...between the adjustable DPI and minimal physical effort required to move the mouse around, the MX Vertical provides some of the most responsive mousing I've experienced in similar products to date - Center wheel scrolling was effortless with reassuring detents in the scroll action itself (i.e. the wheel is not totally loose and free spinning) CONs: - I don't have huge hands, but I typically wear a large or extra large in men's gloves...that said, I found the thumb rocker button to be too far away to use easily or rapidly, especially the button farthest to the front. In the "resting" or "standard grip" position on this mouse, I could not activate that front-most button with the tip of my thumb. Instead, I had to reorient my hand on the mouse by moving my palm closer to the rounded/sculpted back side so that my thumb had greater reach...but this routinely resulted in an errant left-mouse click because my pointer finger was then hanging over the front edge of the mouse button - I found that I needed a large portion of my forearm supported by my desk or the pain in my wrist was even greater than using a regular mouse because instead of resting my entire wrist on the desktop, I was resting just the side - The middle scroll wheel button required a lot of pressure to activate the switch underneath...due to the light weight and vertical orientation of the mouse, a middle click action would also routinely move the cursor to the left without conscious effort to hold the mouse in place - The left and right mouse buttons are predominantly flat...they don't quite match the curvature of the fingers when the arm is extended in the "natural handshake" position as touted by the MX's advertising/product brief...whether this is something that bothers you or not is a matter of personal taste. It bothered me because I don't extend my fingers out straight when I rest my hand on a mouse...as a result, I ended up sort of "clawing" into the mouse buttons at their ends with my fingertips rather than pressing down with the underside of my digits because my fingers didn't rest reassuringly or comfortably across the surface of the buttons I came to this mouse having used two other vertical mice and Logitech's own MX Ergo vertical trackball so my adjustment to the sensation of vertical mousing wasn't as jarring as it probably would be for someone coming straight off a traditional horizontal mouse. But make no mistake, if you have discomfort mousing with a traditional, horizontal mouse, going vertical MAY provide you some relief. However, it's important to consider the ergonomics of your desk/workspace as much as it is the mouse itself. If you tend to keep your mouse near the edge of your desk, you might find this experience a painful one because you're going to end up putting more pressure on an even smaller part of your wrist as you bend it sideways over the edge of your desk. I found the most comfort came by supporting a good deal of my lower wrist/forearm on the desktop and using the maximum DPI settings to help limit the amount of movement required to move the cursor around the screen. From a usability standpoint, this mouse was a mixed bag--or at least it was for me. Functionality and ease of use (especially the software) is top notch as I've come to expect from Logitech--it connected via wireless dongle quickly, was configurable via a simple and very easy-to-navigate program interface, and instantly got me mousing with little effort or overhead. Although I already had Logitech Options on my PC thanks to my existing trackball mouse (the MX Vertical was added seamlessly to the program, I might add), I uninstalled and re-installed the software just to get a sense of what it would take to add and configure the device from scratch. Setup was again speedy and trouble-free; it honestly look longer to download the installer than it did to get the mouse online and properly configured. But once I started mousing, I knew this wouldn't be for me...or at least, I couldn't use some of the customizations in the software that otherwise make this an attractive productivity tool and not just a mouse in a different form. Physically, the mouse really is comfortable to grip/hold in the hand; but as mentioned above, the thumb buttons were placed just slightly too far out of reach to engage quickly and routinely without having to lift and move my hand, and the center wheel button was too hard to activate without pushing the mouse around in the meantime. Because the fit and feel is likely going to be SO personal, I strongly encourage you not only audition the mouse in your own hand to judge the comfort level, but also in your own workspace...at least in my case, I needed to clear out enough room to ensure I wasn't creating more problems than I hoped to solve.

Another Logitech Homerun!
Posted .I have come to expect a very high level from Logitech. From my Craft Keyboard, Harmony devices, Presenter remotes - Logitech has developed a reputation for quality in my mind. When I heard they were bringing a vertical, wireless mouse to the market, I knew I'd have to get one and try it out. Over the years, I've come to love vertical mice - there was a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, but now I can't ever see myself going back to a standard mouse. The first thing I noticed was the overall look and feel. This thing is beautifully designed and it also appears to compliment the design aesthetic of the Craft keyboard perfectly! The mouse itself has a total of 5 buttons and a click wheel: - Standard left / right buttons - Back / forward navigation buttons by your thumb - A tracking speed setting button on the top Admittedly, the back / forward navigation buttons were a bit wonky and took me some time getting used to - sometimes I still find myself using the browser buttons instead. The tracking speed setting is nice, so you can easily change it without having to dig into your computer's settings. I found the click wheel and other buttons to be response and enjoyable. It also comes with a Logitech universal receiver if your computer doesn't support Bluetooth connectivity - I've been using it with my Mac mini via Bluetooth and it's been rock solid dependable. It also uses Logitech's Options software so you can customize an even deeper layer of settings if desired - one cool feature that I've not had the chance to play around with is the ability to move from one PC to another simply by dragging the mouse off screen. It also comes with a standard USB-A to USB-C charging cable, but if you have the Craft keyboard, you should know that the plug is too big to fit, so if you want to share the same cord to charge both devices, you'll probably want to use the one that comes with the mouse. If you're a fan of Logitech hardware and are in the market for a vertical mouse, you should really consider this one. With it's premium price point, I will tell you that you get what you pay for. Considering that Apple and other companies have rechargeable mice that have similar features at similar price points, it's definitely in the upper end of accessory hardware.

Awesome concept, just not for everyone.
Posted .This was my first attempt at using an ergonomic mouse, and may be my last. This mouse is very well made, soft to the touch and responsive. I just found it odd to use. I tried it out at work for about 3 days before switching back to my regular mouse. At first it took me forever to do everything because I had to get used to the different shape and learn how to use it properly... that took maybe an hour of constant use. Once I was acclimated to it using it was a breeze, but I still wanted my old mouse back. It is supposed to help with arm and even shoulder pain, which I suffer from, so I pressed on and decided to give it more time. I must say that more time really did nothing to change my mind. Maybe it was the way my desk situation is set up at work but I found no relief in my shoulder/neck pain and at one point even thought it may have made it worse. It was also weird because in Fishbowl, the system we use at my job, I had a hard time clicking on the links. I would be lined up over it and click the mouse but it wouldn't work, even with multiple clicks. And I'd end up moving the curser slightly if I clicked too much. That never happened with a traditional mouse, and only seemed to happen in Fishbowl, weird! I still gave this item 4 stars because it is well made, well thought out, and others will probably thoroughly enjoy it. A co-worker who has been wanting an ergonomic mouse tried it out at his desk, which is in the lab, and he found it to be very comfortable and had no gripes at all. So there you go. I am going to give it another try here at home and see how it goes. I would definitely recommend to someone looking for this kind of mouse.

My Favorite Vertical Mouse
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I've tried several vertical mouses without much luck. They were all wireless and at some point they just stopped working very well. I LOVE that this one works wirelessly OR wired. If I need to use it wireless, so far so good. If it doesn't matter or I need it wired, works perfectly. I use this about 9 hours a day for work. I basically plugged it in and it worked. I did not do any customization (not needed for my use). No problems with it fitting my hand (female, 5'5'').

My new everyday mouse for life!
|Posted .Owned for 5 months when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I started using this after about a month working from home. I was having some pain in my elbow and arm, because they were twisted using a regular mouse. After getting this mouse it was a big relief due to the natural position the arm stands when using it. It also has a great response to commands and the buttons are very useful once you get used to them!! Logitech products never disappointed me!

Good with a mouse pad...
Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Nice on my bad wrists, but it does cause my wrist to hit the table and I get a small red sore. If you have a mouse pad with a wrist cushion, you'll be good. Before I had this one I would sometime use my left hand but with this one, it's impossible to use my left hand. It took me about 2 days to get used to it but now I like it. Love how I can just recharge it by plugging in my android's USB-C cord every 2-3 weeks versus replacing the battery.

Q: QuestionDoes this use bluetooth connectivity, or does it have a dongle?
Asked by Robray.
- A:Answer It has both Bluetooth and Logitech proprietary and USB connectivity. I was initially using BT but link was not being maintained after wake up from sleep. Tried setting power to stay on during sleep but no luck so just switched to dongle. You have three connections that are selected with a switch on the bottom of the mouse that can be either BT or proprietary.

Q: Questioncan I get just a replacement charging USB cable for the mouse? I lost the charging cable on a trip.
Asked by Jeff.
- A:Answer Yes. This is s standard USB type C cable which is ubiquitous nowadays. Several current cellphones use this type charging cable so you probably have one just sitting around. I'm also sure BB has some for sale in either the computer accessory aisle, in mobile accessories, or online.

- A:Answer You can have several devices connected to one USB dongle (so long as it has the little orange star logo on it) Just did mine a few days ago - very simple process.
