Q: What fps does each camera record at? MPEG-4 or H.264 encoding?

A: i have a 2TB night owl Hard drive and have 8 cmaeras as well, i you set the camreas to record 24/7 than its going to chew up the space very fast. The hard drive is a toshiba just like you would find in a very low-end cpu. Unless you are wanting to record the waves in the ocean than your best bet would be to set the camera to record motion only, otherwise you are going to record much of nothing. just think how fast a video you record on your phone takes up space. One video thru one camera 1 min. is about 100mb give or take. So for 8 cameras 24/7 you are looking at a lot of space or you can set the hd to overwrite.. hope this helps
