• No you can leave it until it fills up but the ice on the bottom will eventually start melting.

• You only need to empty once the ice hopper capacity is full. Until then, the machine will keep churning out cubes as long as you have power and water.

• It will make several batches before the ice basket is full. Once full, it will wait for some of the ice to melt or be used before making more.
