QuestionI believe I read that this produces a pure sine wave while online and stepped while on battery. While online, does it produce the pure sine wave only on the Battery+surge outlets or also on the surge side?

- Answer When power is running normally, it uses the house current which should be pure sine wave on every outlet on the back. When the power goes out, and the UPS battery activates, it runs only the stepped sine wave on the Battery + Surge outlets only, and the other surge only outlets will not have power during a power outage. So plug what you need to keep running on the battery + surge.

QuestionIf stored unplugged, will the batteries be charged when plugged again? I have a back-up unit in storage. Will I be able to use it again when plugged a day or two? Thanks for your reply.

- Answer Thank you for your inquiry. If you have the UPS is storage for longer than a few weeks I would recommend disconnecting the internal battery so the batteries don't deplete as fast. The battery will charge back when plugged back in. You just wouldn't want to leave the UPS unplugged for longer than 3 months.

QuestionI have two dell computers and want to use battery back up in case of power outage my laptop is a dell Inspiron 7373 and the power cord says 45 watts the desktop is an Inspiron 5488 aio that cord says 90watts what do I need for 20- 30 minutes

- Answer I have an APC BACK-UPS PRO 1500VA/900 WATT. before replying to this I unplugged my backup to see how long I could run my desktop computer and the 24 inch TV I'm using for a monitor. It ran for an hour and 15 min down to 14 min left. The time on the backup was going down faster than actual time though, so I don't think it would have lasted another 14 minutes.

QuestionCurrently, I have this unit powering 2 PCs. It connects via USB to first PC running PowerChute and shuts it down during power outage. Can PowerChute be used to send a shutdown command to second PC during an outage, preferably over the network?

QuestionHello, During the afternoon and evenings, our voltage drops to 106 to 107 volts instead of the normal 117-120 volts. Our equipment that draws only 120 watts has trouble during these brown outs. When does your AVR kick in? Will it boost around 112 volts?

- Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. The unit would boost the voltage is it is 11.3% below the limit. The limit would be determined by the sensitivity set on the unit. At low sensitivity the range would be 78-142 V. At medium sensitivity the range would be 88-139 V. At high sensitivity it would be 88-136 V.

- Answer Thank you for your interest in in our products. Yes this UPS would provide you a battery backup to your TV and DVD during a power outage. You would just want to make sure they don't draw more than 900 watts of power. Anything over that would overload the UPS.

QuestionCan this serve as backup for my phone system? If so, how long after power outage will power be supplied?

- Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. Yes it will work for your phone system given it draws less than 900 watts. The runtime would really depend on how much power the equipment draws. At full load (900 watts) the unit would provide 3 minutes of runtime. At half load (450 watts) it would get around 11 minutes of runtime. If the power draw is a lot less the runtime will be increased.

QuestionCan these units be daisy chained? For example, can I have one plugged into the AC outlet on the wall Then plug a power strip to this unit and plug another unit into the power strip? Would that give me double the capacity? Would I then have 3000 VA ?

We also don't recommend daisy chaining the units together because the UPSs can become overloaded. QuestionWondering if this is good to protect a 75 inch TV, cable box & Sony receiver. I use one in the office for my pc and printer, but have never used for standard electronics. Just got me a 75 inch TV and with the regular outages, hoping to protect it. Thanks

- Answer Thank you for your inquiry. The runtime would depend on how much power the device draws. Usually the DVR systems pull around 200 watts of power which would provide you with 30 minutes of runtime. If the wattage is the lower than the UPS will provide more runtime.

- Answer Thank you for your inquiry. The BN1500M2 could be placed in a garage given it is cooler and dry. If the garage is hot I wouldn't recommend placing it in it. Overly hot temperatures can cause the batteries to fail prematurely. The unit would support 900 watts of equipment connected to it so wouldn't go over this else you would overload the UPS. I wouldn't recommend plugging your water softener into the unit because I suspect it will overload the UPS. QuestionI have a phrozen sonic mini 8k resin 3d printer. Lets estimate that it can operate for 13 min on battery. Supposing the power is only out for 2 min. Will it resume normal power once the outage has stopped? Or is my 13hr print ruined. Is my guess good?

- Answer Thank you for taking time to provide feedback about our BN1500M2 unit. Based on specs of Phrozen Sonic Mini 8k resin printer online it uses around 50 watts but adaptor requirement is 24 V 3 amps or 72 watts. Since Load is less than 10% the UPS may not report runtime properly but assuming that printer is at 90 watts which I see as 1h 14min See "Run time for load " and enter wattage at BN1500M2's product page https://www.se.com/us/en/product/BN1500M2/apc-backups-pro-1500va-tower-120v-10-nema-515r-outlets-lcd-1-usb-type-c-+-1-usb-type-a-ports/ Runtime will also vary depending on efficiency, load and battery capacity. Typical life span of batteries is 3-5 years and will degrade depending on temperature and charge discharge rate (approximately 200 cycles on Sealed lead acid batteries) Data on product page is based on brand new APC batteries and brand new UPS. When UPS goes on of and on battery there will be a transfer time since we have physical relays. Transfer time of UPS will vary from model to model most Backups Pro units have 6-8 milliseconds depending on sensitivity see article "Equipment connected to a Back-UPS product turns off unexpectedly and/or reboots." https://www.se.com/us/en/faqs/FA158811/ If equipment can handle transfer time but it needs to be really short Changing sensitivity of UPS can reduce transfer time BN1500M2 is normally set at medium and setting it to high will allow you to get 6ms and Low setting will give you around 8ms.
