    • Answer Although Asus states that you can add 8GB of dual-channel RAM for a maximum of 16GB, I searched this model on one of the major RAM manufacturers and found that you can actually add a 32GB module, for a total of 40GB (counting the soldered 8GB). Of course, this excludes use of dual-channel, but it more than makes up for it with the much increased total capacity.

    • Answer According to Micron/Crucial yes, up to 32GB extra on top of the 8GB it already has, and I already added that extra RAM, and is running flawlessly. I can open several sessions in Firefox, each one with 15-20 windows, and the laptop flies!!

    • Answer P.S.: Just to be clear, you can't just "add" a backlit keyboard to a budget laptop by paying the difference, unless, possibly, you are tech savvy enough do it yourself. That's just not the way manufacturers market their products. It would be like wanting to become friends with JLo just because you live next door to her.
