A:AnswerHello,
The system is NEW and comes with Dell’s Basic 1-Year, MAIL-IN Service after Remote Diagnosis Plan. Here is Dell's Warranty and Policy page:
http://dell.to/qDv6c1
This limited hardware warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship in your Dell-branded hardware products, including Dell-branded peripheral products. This warranty does not cover accidental damage claims. Keep scrolling down the page and you will see more information about the remote diagnosis procedure and other terms as well.
After purchase, you first will need to register your system with Dell by filling out the form here:

A:AnswerHello,
I can not be certain, but most likely it has Office Starter 2010 pre-installed and also in the box is an Office 2010 Home and Student Product Key. You can use this key to activate the Office 2010 upgrade process and it will download a few files and convert the pre-installed Starter Office into Home and Student.
If you ever need to re-download Home and Student Office, keep your Product Key card and visit here:

A:AnswerHello,
Yes, this Inspiron 14z does support Intel’s Wireless Display technology. All you need is to install the latest WiDi drivers from Intel's website and purchase a Display Adapter for your TV. This machine can output 1080p WiDi display, so make sure the adapter you purchase handle that as well (the first generation adapters could only handle 720p).

(Intel WiDi Software)
And one of the following:
Netgear Push2TV HD Adapter
Belkin ScreenCast TV Adapter
D-Link DHD-131 TV Adapter
Hope this helps!

A:AnswerHello,
Dell claims a maximum battery life of 8 hours and 50 minutes on the Inspiron 14z (6-cell battery).
Real life battery operating time varies, depending on operating conditions. Operating time is significantly reduced when you perform operations including, but not limited to, the following:
Using DVD, DVD-R, and CD-RW drives
Using wireless communications devices, PC Card™ devices, or USB devices
Using high-brightness display settings, 3D screen savers, or other power-intensive programs such as 3D games
Running the computer in maximum performance mode

A:AnswerHello,
If you are talking about a cable or DSL modem, then yes it can connect directly with it via an Ethernet cable. This will allow you to go online (Internet). It the modem is also a wireless router, then you can use the laptop's WiFi and connect to it wirelessly as well.
Hope this helps!
