Q: QuestionDo you have to hold the power button on to use?

• A:Answer Hello, No you don’t need to hold the power button that was the big difference with the V-12. The only thing that’s disappointing about the V-12 is the trash canister. Dyson should have made it bigger,so you will have to empty constantly while cleaning. I chose th V-12 over the V-15 due to the lightness. V-12 is lighter than the V-15.

• A:Answer In my opinion, no. Here’s why. I had this vacuum for a few hours before returning it. I have dogs, a Boston terrier and pit I’ll mix. Occasionally we babysit friends animals. There can be a lot of dog hair on our floors. I’ll say this, I’ve own the original Dyson ball, v12, v15, and animal 3. The animal 3 performs the best out of the bunch. The stick vacuums didn’t pick up nearly the amount of hair/dirt/etc as the animal 3.

Q: QuestionI just bought mine and I charged it fully. when I chose the ECO option and started vacuuming. the run on my LED panel said 35 minutes. what options do I choose to get the full 60 minute run time?? or even 45 minutes?

• A:Answer Hey Eric, this is Kelly with Dyson. The run time you receive on this machine will vary from 5-60 minutes. When using on carpeting with the Motorhead, you should get 5 minutes in high, 20 in medium and 30 minutes in low. When using on hard flooring with the Motorhead, run time is the same, except in low mode, you should get closer to 40 minutes. If you're using the Fluffy floor head, you'll get 5 minutes in high, 30 in medium and 50 minutes in low mode. When you're using any non-motorized attachment, you'll get about 5 minutes in high, 30 in medium and 60 in low mode. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

Q: QuestionMy house is all wood floors, but we have a large dog that sheds a lot. Most vacuums we've had in the past could not handle the hair being vacuumed up. Would this one be a good option for us, or is there a better dyson option to handle dog hair on floor?

The V12 Detect Slim is a more compact machine, and therefore the clear dust bin is a smaller size as well - if you find that you are picking up a lot of debris or pet hair on a regular basis, you may find this unit too small. One thing you may appreciate about this model, however is the de-tangling vanes built in to the cleaner head which automatically clean wrapped hair from the brush bar while you vacuum. Q: QuestionI purchased the Dyson V12 yesturday, A full battery dead in 16 minutes. Vacuuming carpet on the stairs, later on my room and today my daughters room. I take my time vacuuming in multiple directions, 30 minutes Ok, but 16? Is it me?

I have found myself that while vacuuming stairs, I like to remove the wand and either use the floor tool or a smaller attachment connected right to the bin for ease of use and control.
