- Answer I think you meant EPSON ET8550 vs ET8500. The biggest differences in my opinion are ET8550 can print larger paper sizes, it’s a larger machine

QuestionJust confirming, as I can’t quite tell and can’t find a previous question that matches: the scan option does not have a feeder, correct? It’s manual scan only (place each page on the glass separately) for both the 8500 and 8550?

QuestionWhat lb. weight of cardstock can I use on this printer. I want to print ephemera on cardstock not on plain paper or photo paper. I thought the specs said it would take cardstock but you said it won't take 110 I didn't understand your weight to use.

- Answer You can use card stock up to 1.3 mm thick. Loaded from the back of the printer. This printer prints stunning photos, I highly recommend it.

- Answer Hello nannerdan. The ET-8500 can connect to most Wi-Fi routers as long as a 2.4 GHz band is available. If your router uses a single network name (SSID) for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, we recommend giving each band its own network name (SSID) instead, such as Home Network 2.4 GHz and Home Network 5 GHz. QuestionHi Again...Your answer from my ET-8500 question did not include any (both sides) photo paper. Running the 2 sided photo paper thru twice is ok if the tray feed helps. My ET-4850 will only feed a third on 2nd pass...and roller leaves marks. Thanks

- Answer Hello HummerBob. The list of Epson papers previously mentioned have been tested and are confirmed to work with the ET-8500. If the double-sided photo paper you want to use is not on the list, then, unfortunately, it is not supported, and your results will vary when printing. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.

QuestionWill the ET-8550 print Auto 2 sided jobs using 60 pound matte photo paper. (Double sided Red River Polar Matte). One of the ET answers said that Auto 2 side jobs are limited to plain paper because photo paper doesn't come both sides in photo...Wrong.

QuestionCould you please tell me if this printer can handle heavy cardstock, such as 130 lb. and 17 pt.? Also does it have a rear paper feed? I would like to use this for printing nice business cards and greeting cards. Thank you!

- Answer Hello Recksie. The heaviest paper the Epson ET-2800 supports is 27 lb (100 g/m2). The printer does have a rear paper feed for loading paper. If there is another card stock you are planning on using that meets this specification, make sure it is inkjet compatible and select Thick Paper in the printer driver when printing. QuestionI am an industrial screen printer. Need the ET8550 to print film positives with deep, dark black ink unto vellum and plastic transparency. Will ET8550 do this and will it recognize the clear plastic to pull it into the printer from the tray and ADF?
