“Is there an app for your phone you can control and take photos via wifi and the app, if so can you say if this function works well at 30-50' distance? Also does it have a tripod mount (1/4 20)?”

I can't answer the WiFi question (though it does have WiFi) because I haven't played with that feature at all yet. I can confirm it DOES have the standard tripod mounting hole.
