A:AnswerHi Shellybelly - Thanks for considering GE! Model # GTS22KSNRSS is "garage ready" which means it is tested to perform from 38°F to 110°F. It will operate fine in your garage as long as it remains within this temperature range. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
A:AnswerAccording to the product description, under Specs, then Features, it says the door hinges ARE reversible. If it's anything like my old GE fridge from the mid-90s, it's not apparent by just looking at it, so maybe that's why the verified purchaser answered no. However, if the description is actually wrong, I'd like to know and/or I hope someone fixes it, because this feature is important to me. (FWIW, I have always been very happy with my old GE, it's never needed any repairs, and it still keeps my food as fresh as it ever did, but it may finally be on its last leg, as it's been doing a bunch of loud clunking when the compressor turns off. Of course this happens during a pandemic when the supply chain is hurting and hardly anything's in stock and won't be for months!)
A:AnswerCongratulations on your new refrigerator and what an excellent choice! The Styrofoam you see around the controls and vents is not packing material and should not be removed. It is used for insulation and if removed, service will be required to replace it. When starting the refrigerator or changing the temperature, allow for 24 hours until the set point is reached. Thanks and enjoy! - John@GEAppliances
A:AnswerHi Jakew - Model GTS22KSNRSS is not equipped with an icemaker. It is compatible with Optional Icemaker Kit IM4D (sold separately). Thanks for considering GE! Sue
A:AnswerHi Melody - Thanks for choosing GE and welcome to the family! Recommended temperatures are 37F in the refrigerator and 0F in the freezer. The numbers on the control do not represent a temperature. The fresh food control regulates how long the compressor runs, and in effect, how cold both compartments can become. A:AnswerHi FLlife - Yes, rollers next to the leveling legs allow you to move the refrigerator away from the wall for cleaning. Thanks for considering GE. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com for all your appliance needs! Sue
A:AnswerHi there, and thanks for reaching out to us. We hate to hear there's some confusion over the internal set up of this refrigerator and would like to help clarify. This model has two shelves in the fresh food compartment, as well as two bins at the bottom (the top covering the bins can also hold items). There is a drawer hanging from the top shelf that is adjustable and can be moved if you prefer; this is referred to as the snack drawer, which may be why you didn't see it listed. The freezer has one shelf, though items can also be placed on the floor of the freezer compartment. We hope this clears up the storage available in the refrigerator, but are happy to help if you have any other questions. Wishing you all the best! -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerHello- You are correct. This model doesn't have a freezer light. We can understand wanting one and we will be sure to share your feedback with our engineering and design team. Thank you! Joyce@GEA

A:AnswerGreetings,
We'll be happy to answer this question! Extreme temperatures outside the temperature range will affect cooling, causing the unit to be less efficient. Below 32 °F, there is no cooling capability at all. At temperatures exceeding 110°F, there is a possibility of the oil overheating and breaking down, thus damaging the compressor or sealed system. Let us know if you have additional questions. Mike@GEA
A:AnswerHey there, this is an excellent question and we're happy to help. The case depth without the door is 28-5/8". We hope that's the information you were looking for and we're wishing you the best. We'd love to see you in our GE Appliances family! - Guy@GEA
A:AnswerHi mrsed - Thank you for your patience. We truly appreciate you considering this fantastic top-freezer refrigerator for your home and are happy to tell you more about these finishes! The beautiful Slate finish is inspired by the rich texture of stone and is similar to a taupe gray color. It has a warm, matte texture that blends with every material and color and is versatile with every style. It has stainless accents and the sides, case and accent parts are a dark Dorian Gray for easy color coordination. The distinctive Black Slate finish is a deep charcoal color with a small amount of gloss to create a sparkly reflection in the light. It includes black stainless handles that perfectly complement the stainless accents founds on your other appliances. Both appearances offer you a unique matte finish that helps to hide fingerprints and smudges to keep your appliances looking clean. We are sorry to hear of the trouble you have had in seeing these finishes in person and sincerely hope that these descriptions help to clarify! Please feel free to reach out to us via our Contact Us page online if you have any additional questions. -Eliza@GEA
A:AnswerHello and thank you for reaching out about this excellent refrigerator. The measurements of the refrigerator are 66 3/8 H x 32 3/4 W. Please let us know if you have any more questions. - JB
A:AnswerHi Lind - We have great news! Models are typically shipped with a right hand door opening ("hinges" on right), and the handles get installed on the left. The door swing can be reversed on model GTS22KMNRES so that the door opens in the opposite direction. For directions on reversing the door swing on your refrigerator, consult your Installation Instructions or view a video at this link: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=35111 - Thanks for choosing GE! Sue
A:AnswerNo. The installers did NOT put the handles on. They were inebriated and did a poor job. Expect to put the handles on yourself. Not hard to do. If you need to have the doors switched around, good luck with that. This is the second time where I have had installers be under the influence (of not only alcohol) and do a poor job. Best Buy needs to hire better contractors. Wish you the best of luck.
A:AnswerHello AnnMK. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question about the amps. The estimated energy cost per year is $51. It has 422kWh electricity use. It is rated at 1.2 Amps at startup and approximately 1.0 Amp normal operation. We hope this addresses your questions. Enjoy this refrigerator. Geoff@GEA
