A:AnswerHello. With the space saved by having the washer and dryer in one unit, installing our Combo alongside another machine may be a good option! Two of our Combos can be installed side by side, using two Y-adapters. We have not tested the Combo installed alongside another model, so we would just recommend reviewing the installation instructions to be sure the requirements are met; those instructions are available on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. While the Combo doesn’t have an option to link up with another washer over WiFi, you can pause the cycle and/or set up a Wash Complete notification to add items before the dry cycle. As long as you don’t overload the unit with too many items, there shouldn’t be an issue with that. We hope this helps, and we’re confident the Combo would be a great fit for your laundry needs! -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerThere is a setting to stop after wash, then you can pop in a dryer sheet. In all honesty the clothes smell amazing with Tide and sowny fabric softner, havent needed any
A:AnswerHello. Our Combo features Dynamic Balancing Technology to help balance the spin cycle for each load, which provides an overall reduction in vibration as well as a quieter wash! Ensuring the unit is level and connecting to the app to receive any updates will also help to ensure a quiet experience with no excessive vibration. We’re confident the Combo would be a great fit for all your laundry needs and would be perfect to install on your second floor. All the best! -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerI don't think shrinkage will be an issue with this dryer, the heat level is much lower than what is found in standard dryers. It does not rely on high heat to cause evaporation to remove the moisture from the drum.
A:AnswerHello - You're not required to download the SmartHQ app in order to use the Combo; however, we do recommend that you download it to ensure that your unit stays up to date with the latest software. With that app, you can even turn the unit on and off if you're away!. Please let us know if you have additional questions. Best regards. -Don@GEA
A:AnswerIt is like a soft hum. During the cycle change from wash to dry you do hear when the water gets pumped out to the drain. Our son couldn’t sleep before while we washed clothes because it was on his wall now he sleeps through it.
A:AnswerThis machine is 120v 15amp. The drying part is about the same electricity used as the tumbling part of your gas dryer. The savings will be nearly 100% of what you pay for gas to dry your clothes.
A:AnswerI don’t see why you couldn’t drain it into the floor drain as long as there is no blockages. My wife and I were commenting how we could have had it outflow into a tub or tub sink.
A:AnswerIt is the only size but it can come on a pedestal if you choose to make it taller for ease of loading and unloading but it is not a functional drawer.
