A:AnswerWindows will only allow partitioning on a MBR disk to 1,048 GB. A tool such as MiniTool allows you to convert the disk to GPT which permits > 1TB partitioning. I believe there might be a free version but I paid for it (inexpensive).
A:AnswerIt's not an issue of compatibility; it is an issue of interface. If the older Dell MB has an IDE interface and the newer one is SATA, you will not be able to use it.
A:AnswerAny computer can format a drive. Right click and find the format option. You might need to google how to use Administrative tools if that does not work. Those are tools in Windows. Easy to use.
