QuestionI hook this Amp to a 10in. kicker comp c and it froze the sub up after about 8 months. Do you know why it would do that?

- Answer If you purchased the 10 inch kicker box set then that 10 inch is only 300 watt sub. Bestbuy sells a 10 inch kicker sub by itself that is a 500 watt, which is watt I use with the same amp. I believe that Amp is too much for the 300 watt.

- Answer Need more information. 1400 watt peak or rms and is that combined or per. Also turn up is a hard thing to answer by the way amps work. Are your preouts 5v 8v .2v? If your speakers each can handle 1400 watts peak this amp is going to be to weak. Also are your speakers 1 ohm 2 or 4? Dvc or single voic coil? Need a lot more info to answer your question.

- Answer The Kenwood KAC-511 is designed to power subwoofer/subwoofers and not small midrange/highrange speakers designed for the decklid, door, etc. of a car, unlike a fullrange amplifier.

- Answer I ran 2 12 inch subs in this amp for a while. Then it blew within 4 months. Since then I’ve switched to an amp that pushes more power and a different brand and has worked fine since. So the answer is yes, you can but from experience I wouldn’t recommend.

QuestionI have this Kenwood set up.its only about 7-8 months old the other day the sub's just stopped working.I changed the deck and rca jacks and speaker wire.the amp isn't in protection mode I hooked the subs up to another system.work fine.stumped!any help?

- Answer What head unit are you running it off of? A decent head unit will run clean compared to a factory unit or a cheap one. Amplifying a unclean sound will blow your subs. Hopefully this helps.

QuestionI have a 12” kicker dual coil, I believe it’s 2 Ohms. Will this amp suffice or will I need a 1200watt amp? I was told that it’s actually a 4 Ohm speaker because it’s dual coil (2 Ohms each), but I don’t really have knowledge about speakers. HELP!

- Answer Idk why but apparently best buy thinks its a good idea to let just anyone answer questions on THEIR web page for God knows what reason?? Really do not think have seen one question about this amp answered by someone qualified much less knowledgeable on the subject! That said to answer your question along wit the 2 ohms the rms wattage will be needed to answer it... BTW your sub is two 4 ohm speakers wired in parallel which reduces ohms down to 2 ohms, not bcuz there's two 2 ohm speakers... anyhow there's no way of knowing if this amp which is rated at 500 watts rms given the impedance of your sub is sufficient without knowing the given rms which you wish to run.

- Answer Should have no problem at all. CVs are very efficient and built for power. At 300w @ 2 ohms, each will get 150w. Just make sure the total mixed load does not go below 2 ohms, which is two 4 ohm speakers in parallel. Or 1 ohm if the specs allow it, which is really the only way you're going to get 1,000 watts out of it.
