No it can not be turned off and it is very annoying.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Purchased July 4, 2020 was able to turn of sound on July 19, 2020 LG - 2.0 Cu. Ft. Family-Size Microwave - PrintProof Black Stainless Steel Model:LMC2075BDSKU:5714907 I clicked on Stop and Timer button at the same time for about 3 to 4 seconds and it switched it to "OFF". Thank God it is no longer making that annoying sound. I was okay with it only going off once but when it kept on going on to remind you that became annoying. I called LG and they said there was no way of turning it off and after watching a few videos that worked with other models I thought to play with the buttons on this model and it worked. I had to listen to this sound for almost a month and when my son made a comment it about it I decided to continue working on finding a way to turn off sound. Maybe someone can make a youtube video and post it for this model. You can also switch sound back on by clicking on them once again for the same amount of time. LG - 2.0 Cu. Ft. Family-Size Microwave How to turn sound off: Stop/Clear + Timer = Hold both for 3 to 4 seconds to turn timer off or on This video is what helped me try and figure it out by pushing different buttons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ci0c-K3sJyc Clear + Keep Warm, Clear + Sensor Cook Stop/Clear + Timer = 3 to 4 seconds I hope this helps the many of you that would like to turn this sound off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We just got an LMC2075ST and the noises were driving me crazy. Pressing the STOP and Timer buttons simultaneously until the display says OFF seems to have turned off the sounds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've owned this microwave for almost 1 year. I like the tune it plays when it is finished MUCH better than just a standard beeping noise. It also continues to remind you every minute or so if you have not opened the door after your timer is done. Again, this is a feature I like because when I am busy making multiple dishes in the kitchen at the same time I need to be reminded to get whatever I have in the microwave out. This is all a personal preference, but I would not let the tune it plays keep you from buying this microwave.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Make sure you see the answers to this by SoCalButterfly and Daniel (big shout out to both!). You can, indeed, turn off the sound by their method. You will need to adjust a bit to the oven making no noise at all when you touch the number pad, but if that “melody” chime drives you as crazy as it does me and others, the silence is worth it. I can’t imagine it would be that difficult for LG to make the chime configurable, i.e. let the user choose among a few different chime options. Like my $9.95 battery powered doorbell does.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just got done sitting on the phone for 20 mins with LG customer service and they confirmed there is no way to shut off the horrible, annoying melodies it plays during and at the end of cooking your food. I am going to return the microwave.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can attest. It's horrible. Don't buy this microwave unless you want to be driven nuts by horrible ending chimes. The first time you hear it, it doesn't sound that bad. After then 10th, you want to kill the machine. We're going to open it up and remove the speaker.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes!!! Hold “Stop” and “Timer” at the same time for a couple of seconds. Only bad thing is now the timer doesn’t have sound as well and when you touch the buttons you don’t have noise feedback. To turn it back on you do the same thing. I can’t believe I had to guess this and so many people don’t know.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I find this to be a helpful feature b/c it only dings in intervals, so I won't forget that my coffee cup is in there!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.hold the clear and sensor cook buttons at the same time tell the screen says off
