Yes, you can use this one between your DSL modem and your home "network". You would connect it to the LAN port on the DSL modem and then you can plug your tv, laptop, etc into the available ports. The big question is why you are picking this one? It does NOT have wireless built in. If you are needing wireless, you should use a wireless router instead. This one is usually recommended for a business that needs VPN connections. We have used this model when a main office needs a VPN to a remote office. Then it was used at the remote side to create a site-to-site VPN connection back to a main office. It is not really much of a firewall, so if you are looking at this one because you are wanting better security, you should look for a true firewall instead. SonicWall has some SOHO models that work good if security is your goal.

However it does not have WIFI; you will have to supply your own WIFI access point, but this router will handle the routing requests from a typical WIFI access point, and handle the internet routing through your AT&T modem. I currently do this through my Spectrum modem. Please note that the router only has four output ethernet ports; if you have more direct-wire TV's or computers than this, you will need an ethernet switch to add more ports.
