- Answer Hi, Loganberryisthebest. Make sure to connect the other end of the Ethernet cable from your modem to the Internet Port (or Yellow Port) of the Linksys E5400. You may also try checking the internet access behind the modem and see if you have internet connection, bypassing the router.

QuestionCan this Router be put into repeater bridge mode to extend my cellphone internet internet access?

- Answer I don't believe so, as a "bridge" device by itself. I would become just another WiFi access point. It relies on a hardwired connection on a specific port to get to the Internet. You might be better served by getting a WiFi mesh setup.

QuestionDoes this have a 1.1.16 IP address

- Answer LAN or WAN? (and the address is missing an octet--should be another field with a period separating, like "1.1.16.x") WAN (Wide Area Network - the Internet) is automatically assigned by whatever router you connect it's "Internet" port to. Haven't tried setting it's LAN (Local Area Network - your home) subnet to a configuration with values that low, so I can't answer that aspect.

- Answer Hi, Rexy. As long as your Rise broadband provider has a modem that supports Ethernet connection and has active internet connection then it should work with the Linksys E5400.

QuestionJust want to have internet access to a second computer (WiFi capable) in another room. Security is important. My modem also hooks up to VOIP phone if that is an issue. I have cable high speed internet (Spectrum). Posts here and elsewhere are confusing

- Answer It's as secure as any WiFi router as long as you use strong passwords when configuring it. A VOIP phone on a separate port from this should not pose any problems.

QuestionNeed router to handle static IP addresses so phone which will be VoIP and internet can work at the same time. Will this router work? Have broadband cable for internet and company is trying to switch landline to VoIP - Formerly had DSL .

- Answer You can set DHCP reservations in this router so, effectively, it can assign "static" IP addresses. If your device can be set to a real static IP address below 100 in the last position (default automatic DHCP address range is 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.149, based on a configured first address of 100 and number of users), then I don't see why not as it won't interfere below 100.

QuestionI got this router with the premise that it would handle up to 800 mbps speed on the 5ghz band and up to 300 mbts on the 2.4 band. However, I have a 200 mbps plan and it has never given me more than 97 mbps on the 5 htz, and 40 on 2.4g.What can I do?

- Answer Get a different router if you are referencing Internet downlink speeds. This one is only capable of 100Mbit to the Internet, contrary to the description here. Don't know it's WiFi-to-WiFi speed capability.
