A:Answer If the switch to the lamp is off the bulb loses power and is no longer visible to the Hue Bridge. The Bridge app will show the bulb(s) unreachable. Once the light switch is powered on the bulb will automatically turn on and the Bridge will reconnect to it. This is handy if you need lights on quickly without calling out the command or looking for your device. For example, when I am walking in the door with a handful of groceries and cannot yell to the kitchen to turn them on, and/or reach for my phone, I can flip the switch off and on and the lights come on.
