- Answer The only way I know is to turn OFF notifications in the APP and go back in and turn it back ON, when your family leaves.

- Answer Basically the same way....attach each wire to one of the screw terminals...does not matter which way .... just need to complete circuit

QuestionI don’t have a doorbell at my townhome. Can I self install this or do I need an old doorbell to do so? I have the simplisafe security system already so it makes sense if I get this doorbell.

- Answer If you don't have doorbell wires, you can use a micro USB with it to "power" it and only get notifications via the app. At this time, there is no way to get the "sound" from a speaker. But you'd get a notification in the app that says "ding dong, someone is at your front door."

- Answer The camera does have a 120 degree viewing angle, so if a camera is installed to the side, you might still be able to catch intruders coming in. But we also have a horizontal wedge available from our Support team at 800-548-9508!

QuestionI have a new home with a SimpliSafe system but I did not purchase the doorbell. We are not wired for a doorbell of any kind . Can I use this doorbell if I currently have no wiring for a doorbell?

- Answer The SimpliSafe video doorbell uses the same wiring as a standard door bell for power. So you will need to have some wiring done to get power to the SimpliSafe Video Doorbell Pro. I had to have re-wiring done because I disconnected my old wiring when I installed a new front door.. I hope this helps.

- Answer It depends on the height of your original bell. The kit does come with an angle mount if you need it. The viewing angle is very wide. I have mine at 4 feet. I did not use the angle device but I did place a piece of plastic behind the mount. About the width of 2 credit cards and it is perfect. The camera works great alo g with motion capture and clarity. And the easiness of viewing video is wonderful.

- Answer You must add a subscription to record events with 30 days of storage. A camera subscription allows you to record events manually, or have your camera record automatically when it detects motion. Live viewing is always available using the app, with or without a subscription. With an optional recording plan, you can record, store and share critical footage with police and neighbors.

- Answer This is the biggest complaint about this doorbell. Only an alert on your phoneif someone rings the bell. Sound outside, alert inside is on your phone. If you walk su from your phone in the house, you won't know it rang. Everyone in the family would need the app on their phone top get alerts AND have their phone nearby. We're constantly miss these notifications.

- Answer Yes, if you have the $25/month monitoring plan you can have unlimited doorbells and simplicams connected at no additional charge. The only extra costs is the price of the device. Best Buy and Simplisafe have the same prices on their doorbell. Worth noting the Best Buy version includes a white, black, and light green faceplate. The one from the simplisafe website only comes in white. Also, I've received more than one email about a buy one doorbell get a simplisafe camera from their website for free. Might be worth looking into if you'd like an additional cam thrown in. I really wanted the black faceplate so I went with Best Buy, but wish I could have scored another free camera.

- Answer Yes, there is a backup battery in the unit in case of a power outage or the power being cut during a robbery or a break in. I had mine unhooked for at least 30 mins and it was still power and was qqable to record video.
