It must stay wired to your router
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the boost has to stay plugged into your router. Not sure how far you want to move the boost since you mentioned such a large property. It could be your modem is not broadcasting a wide enough signal. An option for a larger house for moving the boost would be utilizing a longer cable to connect your boost to your modem/router/Ethernet connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the boost is a miracle worker but it does need to stay plugged into your router. Once it's installed, get a range extender and have your sonos communicate through the range extender. The boost is mainly so that any other speakers added after the soundbar is added, communicate with each other. Just call sonos, they are the best with customer service.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the boost stays plugged in all the time and the boost helps so much with playing all speakers flawlessly
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only one Sonos unit needs to be plugs into a network cable the Boost can be set up wirelessly on the network. It's a much better expander then the original bridge which I only got about 60' of range from. I have no more dropouts with the boost but can't tell you exactly how far the range is. It's trial and error and depends on any physical obstacles in the path of signal. you can also add multiple Boosts to a system to extend range even further.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The boost is the only component in the system that needs to stay plugged into the router at all times. This is so it can create a sub-network in your home for your sonos devices to "live" on. The boost will most definitely help with the player issue you're having. I say get it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the boost should help. Just have the speakers spaced to they can relay the signal on to the next one... No, the boost or one of the speaker need to always be hardwired to the internet with a cable. The speakers themselves will repay the signal to each other, so you should not have any coverage problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. It will need to stay plugged in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe that it needs to be connected to the router at all times to be able to get internet content and stream content from your system. I do not believe that the Boost is a long range solution. Best advise is to contact Sonos directly, their support is amazing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, from my understanding and experience if you only have one sonos booster and your house or property is very large. You may want to look into placing another boost closer to the speakers that are not close to the one you have now. The boost does have to be plugged in to your wireless router though as that is where it obtains the internet from.
