QuestionWould this receiver handle 2 Polk Audio PSW-10 (100w subs), 2 MTX Monitor6i 200watts (100 w) @8ohm and planning buying 2 MTX Monitor5i same specs bookshelves? If not what kind of receiver should I look for? Please provide key specs.

- Answer I believe it will. The thing about this inexpensive lil receiver is this: it performs waaaaaaaaay better then it says on its specs. Seriously. I also think youd be wise to go to the Best Buy Magnolia shop for in depth help. That aside, The model JUST above this (STR-DN1070) can handle your speakers and has bluetooth. ALERT I just saw the price skyrocketed to $250 on this 550. BE SURE to look around the store for Open Box receivers so you can save a buck.

- Answer I don't see why not. It has an AM and FM tuner and if you only hook up two speakers it works just fine.

- Answer Receivers and TVs work with HDMI so it should definitely work. It has 4k throughout so you won't get any signal loss

- Answer The remote will only change the output to a particular device on the receiver. Once it changes output you will have to resort to that devices remote to control it. I would suggest looking into a Harmony remote if you want to control everything from one remote.

- Answer It will take up to two subwoofers, but you can connect just one by using an RCA y-splitter.

Questioncan you attach a analog VCR to the video input and and audio input and get it to work on the TV via the HDMI out connector? I guess what I'm asking is does it have an analog to digital converter in it so the analog signals from the VCR use the HDMI out.

QuestionAll of the speakers work fine until I go netflix. At that point only the 1 center speaker actually is fully functional, the rest of the speakers only produce background noice. No voices come thru them. I have a new Samsung 4k smart tv. Why is that?

- Answer You'll probably need to run an optical audio cable from the tv back to the receiver's optical input.

- Answer you may have to hook up an optical audio cable from your tv back to the receiver's optical input. Worked for me.

- Answer If you have a wireless speaker system and you have a way of connecting the output signal to the receiver it should work. The receiver itself does not have the capability of sending out a wireless signal on its own.

- Answer Hello Gustavo! No, this unit comes with a port labeled Auto Cal Mic, which is basically used only to calibrate the levels from the connected speakers. Therefore, it is not capable of allowing you to record or to input a signal from a microphone similar to a karaoke source. This will only allow you to get the sound from one source at a time.~Jeannette

- Answer Everybody sell 3 ohm receivers; it's just that no one markets them that way. For example, a Sony I recently purchased was advertised to be rated at 145 w/ch @ 6 ohms. Changing the resistance changes the power output so that you'd get a rated output of 290 w/ch @ 3ohms. How good an idea it is to run your amp with that low a resistance... I have no idea. If you're a Best Buy fan, go into their Magnolia area and see if one of their folks might be able to help.

- Answer I'm not sure of this, but the Galaxy s5 might be whats considered an MHL Deive. if this is the case follow these steps. This allows you to turn the function that automatically switches input to the MHL device input on or off when the MHL device is played. 1. Select [Settings] - [HDMI Settings] from the home menu. 2. Select [MHL Auto Input]. 3. Select [On] or [Off].

- Answer Depending on the device (sound source) - Sony will auto-detect sound mode. On the source side you can specific sound mode priority and Sony will use that one by default.

- Answer I would hook up the big speakers to the Front Speaker ports on the back of the Sony Receiver and the smaller ones to the surround ports. Then go to the menu on the remote and press Stereo and you'll get sound from all 4 speakers. If you are getting a "surround" broadcast, try experimenting with Dolby Surround.
