A:AnswerRefurbished items are not always available for long because of limited quantity. I would recommend checking the website and the store to see if they are available.

A:AnswerThe original model number of the laptop is SVE14A27CXH. Regarding battery life, with just the default brightness on, it is estimated to last up to 5 hours and 45 minutes. However take note that actual performance may vary considerably based on hardware configuration, software, power management settings, environmental conditions, wireless connectivity and other factors. For more information on maximizing battery life, you may check out the solution link provided below.

A:AnswerThe maximum output resolution of the HDMI port for this model is 1920 x 1080, which is HD. However, some large monitors will not display at the highest resolution, even though the monitor is capable of higher output resolutions, and even if those output resolution options are available from the computer video card list. This is because these monitors need to be provided a signal from a dual link video card, which will output the video signal in two separate halves through one cable. When connecting this type of monitor using a single link video card, the monitor only sees half of the information, so it scales back to the maximum resolution that can produced with a single link card.Since Sony® computers only offer a single link output and no adapter to provide a dual link signal support, these large external monitors may not display at the higher resolutions. Consult the monitor manufacturer product specifications to see if a dual link video card is required for maximum resolution.
A:AnswerI'm answering a bunch of questions because BestBuy offers them to me after I left a review. I don't work for either one or any reviewing company, but I'm afraid leaving too many answers might look wrong. Anyway, Sony told me it had a 1 year warranty through them even though it was refurbished. We need to fax or email them our receipt to confirm but they'll support it in the meantime as it was only released 8 months ago or so.
A:AnswerYou have to create your own reinstallation DVD or flash drive and Sony provides the wizard to do so. It takes a bunch of DVDs, 5 I think, or a flash drive at least 21 gigs. This laptop doesn't come with a restore disk even if you bought it directly from Sony. They work differently from Dell.
A:AnswerI have purchased the laptop and did not have any issues. The laptop didnt have a single sign of previous use. In fact if it wasnt for the fact that it was shipped in a geeksquad box instead of manufacturers original packaging I would have sworn it was brand new. Please keep in mind though that as a refurbished unit, not all people will have the same luck!
In my opinion, getting this laptop at $699, instead of $999 is a steal and well worth it!
A:AnswerI shopped for a long time and couldn't find a touchscreen laptop with i7 processor, 8 gigs ram and at least 900 resolution for under 1100. You can find i3's for cheaper. Big difference. I actually configured this laptop on Sony's site weeks ago with all that and it was over 1150 I'm pretty sure, 1100 at least. You can't get this model with a touchscreen at Sony right now. Anyway, I'm not advertising for Best Buy or Sony but I'm sure this was quite the deal.
A:AnswerNot really an answer but an experience. I recently bought my first refurbished laptop and it did not have any of the specific drivers so a lot of the laptop's functions did not work properly. The touch pad was also loose and faulty and for Geeksquad to even look into it would cost $200 and since it was refurbished, it came with no warranty. I returned it of course and reordered another refurbished one in hopes of it being better than the last. Still waiting for it to arrive but unless you have time to experiment and try to get the "better" refurbished laptop, I say add that extra $200 for a brand new one.
A:AnswerI purchased this laptop and had my wife send it to me since I am currently in another country. Although I have not seen it myself, my wife told me that the one we received has scratches on the bottom. She told me that it was, "not very bad, but noticable".
