A:AnswerActually it will work when the car is turned off. The power socket stays on in my Explorer and I set the camera to motion sensor and it records. So you have to have power to the camera because the battery doesn't last very long. The battery does work, but it will probably not record unless you set it to motion sensor when parked.
A:AnswerI believe so if you get a AC to DC converter to plug in any outlet they usually come with cig light extension, ck Amazon, just for the sake of aug. I have portable Battery charge for the car which also has a DC cig. plug, recharge every 3 o 4 months incase I ever need extra power or a jump from it, also its' a tire inflator.

Formatting is accomplished by tapping the menu button twice to get to the setup menu. Then going to format, use the OK button choose yes... say yes until it formats. Another user answered this quite concisely.
A:AnswerThought the same thing as led screen turns off after a couple of minutes, but is actually still recording if a small blue light is flashing. The default will shut off the screen after a couple of minutes to save the battery, but you can reset this by going back into the setup and reset to not turn off or adjust the timer.
