Q: QuestionHave everything hooked up radio cable bx all work but when I switch to netflix or YouTube apps on tv I have no sound. Not sure if its just switching to tv or if i need optical cord. Thanks for help

• A:Answer Steve, ARC needs to be configured on your TV and the Receiver - that sets up the "Audio Return Channel" to the Receiver. If your TV doesn't support ARC, you could hookup Optical Out from your TV to Optical In on the Receiver.

• A:Answer A turntable requires a phono preamplifier to amplify the output of the phone cartridge to line level and apply proper RIAA equalization. In the old days (my time) the phono preamplifier was built into the receiver. Many modern turntables have built in phono preamplifiers and line level outputs. This receiver does not have a phono input, but it does have line level auxiliary audio inputs. You can connect a turntable that has built in phono preamplifier, or an external phono preamplifier, but you can't connect the output of a phono cartridge directly to a line level auxiliary audio input on this receiver.

• A:Answer TP, Mixing 6 Ohm & 8 Ohm on separate channels is fine. (Speaker resistance actually varies over the frequency range.) Wouldn't recommend 4 Ohm or 2 Ohm for this receiver, though.

Q: QuestionI have the speakers for 5.1 channel but I need a receiver. I want to be able to watch movies from a DVD player would I have to connect the hdmi cable to this receiver or to the tv? If it’s to the tv do I just plug the receiver and the DVD player to the tv

• A:Answer Connect the tv to the receiver via ARC. Connect the DVD to any HDMI input on the receiver (1 through 4). With the tv on you would then select that input on the receiver to view your DVD. Connect other devices to the receiver and merely change the input to view on the tv. Some selections, such as Bluetooth, don't require a tv/monitor...such as streaming music.

Q: QuestionWhen using headphones with this, does simply plugging in the phones turn off the speakers, or do they need to be manually turned off?

• A:Answer Speakers connected to the receiver are automatically cut off when headphones are plugged in. Not so when a blue tooth device is connected so if the you want the speakers to turn off you have to mute the receiver.

Q: QuestionDoes this remember more than one YPAO setting?

• A:Answer There appears to be confusion about this question. YPAO is the built-in feature allowing this unit to measure and remember your listening room characteristics and speaker setup. If the room or speaker setup changes in any way, it would be best to re-run the YPAO feature. So, there is only 1 configuration to be useful any given time. Therefore, no ability to save and recall different settings.
