    I purchased a protection plan for the Roku Ultra I just bought, and it was a waste of money. I called with a problem, and the Geek Squad "professional" set me up the following Tuesday for an in-home appointment. But I waited all that assigned Tuesday and no one showed up. Then I received a notification from Best Buy that it was for the NEXT Tuesday. The man who came out knew nothing about Rokus, because he was a TV repairman (I have GS protection on my TV, too). He made a bunch of promises, kept none, and left without helping. So, I got a replacement Roku, and it has the same problems as the first. The only use in buying a protection plan on a small device is that you can get it replaced for up to 2 years (or 3, or 4, depending upon your plan) if it should break down. But don't expect much in the way of service otherwise. I buy the protection plan on everything I buy from Best Buy, and so far, everything I have bought in the last 10 years has needed at least one repair... so the extra cost has been worth the money. But not so much on the Roku Ultra.

    I wanted to exchange this defective item before exchange policy expires and I received an email about the transaction and I noticed my original protection plan for 4 yrs that I purchased was reduced to 2 yrs. best buy told me it was to be a straight across exchange. had my original protection plan for only 2 months!

    Terrible! Won’t fix my item. Won’t replace it since it is out of stock. And won’t give me a similar one without paying more money! They offered a credit but since I use Best Buy rewards certificates, they will only give me back the actual cash I paid. Not the certificate amounts that I rightfully earned. Bad warranty.

    I’d never buy Geek Squad Protection. I had to go through the BBB years ago to get them to honor a laptop plan I bought after they tried to repair it 3 times and only made it worse each time. The plan stated after 3 failed repairs they give me the money back for the item so I can buy a new one and they wouldn’t honor it.

    I would give it a 0 if possible. They don't have a way for you to easily contact them about help. And if you do they ignore you. Don't waste your time.

    Way to expensive for the item you want to put a warranty on. Their are times that this warranty is no longer valid depending on the geek squad person.

    I could not afford to have Geek Squad com do any instalnation to my home they wanted another 125 dollars to come to my home !! I am on limited income !!

    Buy with caution at another retailer

    Proceed with caution. I developed stick issues within three weeks. Best Buy has a strict two week return window, making my purchase a complete waste. If you really want to try your luck here, purchase it from a retailer that actually has confidence in what they sell with a standard 30-day return policy. I'll never take my chances with Best Buy again when literally every other competitor makes it easier to replace a faulty product.

    When I bought this coverage I thought it was an extended warranty. Of course I bought it because the products were new. What did I know? One thing failed, so warranty in hand, I went to collect a replacement bulb, only to find out that the protection was concurrent with the manufacturer's protection, and not extended. Best Buy, you let me pay a premium for coverage I could never use. Not nice BB.

    Garbage —absolute garbage this thing reboots itself every few minutes to every few hours while you are trying to watch shows. I should have ran this product in search engines prior to purchasing it. I tried everything from resetting to removing suspected programs that cause the problems. Now I have to order another fire stick because this thing was an absolute waste of money. Junk, complete junk.

    Depending on your purchase, Best Buy will submit a free offer to your e-mail. Please be aware that the offer will not be effective if you wait too long to download it. Calling and dealing with customer service about my issue was the worst experience I've ever had to deal with.
