After reading other reviews I leaned toward this laptop. Not at all what I expected. Keyboard is for a beginner with the keys spread out, very slow and you'll have to purchase windows or another program if you need to do any type of writing. Extremely disappointed.

If several advertisers were not regularly taking over control of my lap top, against my will, and on a regular basis, every several minutes, etc. I would probably l would probably like my computer-and, I would very much be recommending same, to many other of my family and friends, etc.

It came with an unsupported, obsolete internet explorer browser, none active virus protection and immediately got loaded down with malware which caused me to get rid of it as I didn't have $200 to pay for getting it fixed. So not worth it.

Great laptop to get the basic stuff done!

I had an HP laptop that had lasted me for about 8 years but was getting glitchy and wanted to get another one before it completely failed on me. I wanted one that ran Windows 7 and not 8 as I am not a huge fan of it. So after searching and reading some reviews I thought this one would do the job for what I wanted which was just basic things like word processing and web surfing. I'm pretty happy with its speed so overall a great and smooth purchase.

    Great laptop from Acer

I bought this laptop for a variety of reasons. Those reasons are: price, Windows 7, hard drive size, and Bluetooth. I have owned this laptop since May 13 2014 and I am very happy with my purchase. I love the screen size on this laptop because it provides me ample room to view multiple tabs. The display itself provides a very crisp picture. The thing that I loved the most about this laptop is that it doesn't come with a bunch of junk software on it. I removed three programs that it came with because I had other programs that I was wanting to use. I would highly recommend this laptop to those people who don't want Windows 8.

At home we have Apple computers and my son needed to run a program in Windows. I did not want to go the Bootcamp route, so we searched for an affordable laptop with Windows 7 ( I read many, many reviews complaining of Windows 8). We found this laptop and were pleasantly surprised by the speed and ease of use. Very happy with the purchase.

Replaced an older XP based computer with this Windows 7 unit. It was easily installed on our wireless home network. I used the Windows Easy Transfer program to move all data/programs from our old computer. The transfer process went smoothly. As a Senior and not a "techie", I was concerned about the set up process , however, found it to be straight forward. The computer is in use and we are very pleased with it. It fits our needs, is very fast and has great color/display.

I use this for work and school, and this laptop runs pretty great. It gets the job done. I like the screen and the keyboard. Although, I hate how it gets dirty easily with fingerprints on the outside. Also, when I turn it on the fan is kinda noisy, but nothing too bad. There isn't a software for the webcam but you can download it online, but I just use it for skype and the quality is great.

I personally don't use laptops. Bought this as a gift. I used it to setup before giving. I found the keyboard layout very pleasing, nice big keys. Mouse pad is superior to any I've seen. Love the tactile feel of it, makes pointer easy to position. Basic software that priced perfectly with no frills. Very useable. Highly recommend this for basic home use. Can't beat the value.

Over all it is good for the money. Easy to see screen and keyboard easy to use. Speakers, even when turned up all the way, are almost unhearable. Really frustrating.

    Second Bad Acer I've Owned

I had a great little Acer notebook from ten (?) years ago that worked hard until it fried. I replaced it with a larger Acer that has never worked right -- I thought I'd just gotten a lemon. So I bought this. It's annoying to use. It's slow sometimes and faster other times. The font size changes all by itself, which fouls up any writing I'm doing. And yes, it's been scanned a million times and apparently has no viruses. It's just a lousy computer. I'm going back to Toshiba or even Dell. I figure that one good Acer was a fluke.

    I Hate This Thing

    Posted .

I bought my first computer in 1982 and have spent a lot of time using all kinds. I bought this one because it was lightweight and I thought it could be my "couch computer." It isn't. It's going back in its box and living there until someone wants it. The mouse is terrible (I've had two other Acers with no mouse problems). The cursor jumps all over the page, no matter what I'm doing or where I am. It will not allow me to install my laser printer (that printer is on four other computers and there's never been a problem). I hate the unnecessary keypad to the right -- that's fine for a work computer but not for just fooling around. The screen is insanely bright and when I dim it down it pops right back up to "searchlight." This thing is cheaply and badly made and if I hadn't blindly and stupidly let my husband set it up while I was gone the other day, I'd return it. With a vengeance. If you're looking for a cheap laptop with Windows 7, try a refurbished Lenovo. I'd worked with three or four of those and they're solid. Not pretty, but solid. Just avoid this cursed thing!

    Worst computer purchase ever

I purchased this computer less than a year ago and have had nothing but problems with it. I returned it once to the manufacturer, per their instructions, received it back two weeks later (for which time I was without a computer), have used it for about two weeks now and it is continuing to do what it did before. I do not use this computer for large projects or a lot of work, just a basic home computer (no gaming or videos even), and it is not even good for basic home use. Do not waste your money.
