    Great laptop for Internet surfing/email

First understand that the Chromebook is not a traditional laptop. It is a laptop that only uses the Chrome browser and you will need a Google account (or you can set one up for free). It does not have all the traditional 'bloat' that a standard laptop has; therefore, it is much speedier. If all you do is surf the internet, check e-mail and you don't need other memory-hogging software like Microsoft Office, then this is a great alternative. With the Google account, you get access to Google Docs, which has Word-like, Excel-like, PowerPoint-like options. The Chrome Web Store is also available to you and there are all kinds of apps that you can install (most are free) that you can use with your Chromebook. I also have a Google Nexus 10 tablet (love) that I use as well for different reasons but sometimes you just need a real keyboard and the Chromebook provides that with all the internet surfing that I do at home. There is some storage on the Chromebook but you will mostly store stuff in the cloud with your Google account. If you need Microsoft Office or other software (like Family Tree or Photoshop, etc.), then this is the NOT the laptop for you. But if you just need something with a keyboard that you can surf the web, use e-mail, keep up with your social media, then consider the Chromebook.

I've really enjoyed learning the chromebook. I am new with computers and it's easy enough to catch on and learn about. The battery life is very good. The only thing I can complain about is a few days ago I noticed a line going across my screen every so often, which concerns me a little. If it keeps up I will call tech support and hopefully they will advise me what needs to be done. Other than that, I really love my chromebook.

The Acer C720 is a fast and efficient Chrome book on the internet. It does away with all the junk that windows makes you use on your laptop and desk computers. Its small and yet when fully charged lasts over 7 hours. It fits my use and will fit many peoples uses im sure.

I think this is a great device, with the best value for money relation in the market. I don't care for the fact that it needs to be always connected to the internet because anyway, I need to be connected to work and I have all my files in Google Drive. I don't care for the fact that it doesn't have a huge storage capacity. I don't needs that because I have everything stored in the Internet cloud. I Highly recommended.

We had an old notebook (netbook?) that we used to do quick checks on email, weather, maps, etc., and it was so slow about all it was good for was solitaire and hearts. Went looking for a low cost, high speed replacement and this Chromebook was perfect. We get online in seconds. There's probably a bunch of other good features we haven't explored yet, but the speed from pushing start button to being online is incredible. Finally, a computer that's as impatient as I am!

I usually just use my laptops to do school work, and this Chromebook is amazing. I use the google docs app, and it's so light and portable. It turns on in 8 seconds, and the battery is amazing. It has all the functions I like, and it fits neatly in my backpack.

being a college student and having my professors and chefs posting everything online, this was the perfect laptop for me because i can get on here fast and easy with no problem. you can have apps but you cant install a software on it...think of like a big phone. It doesn't hold a lot of space but that is what external drives and thumb drives are for. and Google drive, love it better than Word, sadly. but if you need something small, fast, and comfy w/ technology then this is wonderful. its really up to you though.

First big computer buy for myself. I am computer challenged. I love it more than I do my sister's windows laptop that I've been using. It opens easily and it doesn't take what feels like 10 mins to open or shut down. Music download is so much more easier than I tunes. It's light and easy to carry around. The only thing that breaks my heart is that it doesn't have a dvd/cd player. All dreams can't come true. But I still totally love this purchase. I feel I'm slowly overcoming my computer challenged problem. Yay me! :)

This is a full fledged notebook with different approach. It takes little time to adjust to OS, but once you do, it is great. It boots up in 5 seconds. Long battery life, full keyboard, The hard drive is only 16 GB, but you get 100GB Google drive space. HDMI and UBS ports allow you to attach portable hard drive or TV with ease. For the price, it is great value.

When this was first received, after about a month, it had to go back for service due to a faulty switch on the screen closer. It stayed on constantly and would not sleep when lid was closed. The fixed it, and now it is fine. The screen quality is not what I want in a laptop, it hurts your eyes after a short while. But I get this, it isn't meant to do all day computing with. It isn't great, but it is okay. For quick browsing or checking email, it is mostly okay. You cannot check your iCloud mail with this either, as Apple doesn't support Chrome. Chrome is good for many websites, but some it simply refuses to work. So, buy and enjoy, but with caveats.

I bought this computer just for personal use - Hulu viewing, e-mail, e-bay, banking, etc......It does have document and spreadsheet capability, but not the computer meant for that (I haven't tried). I love the key board - weeks before I noticed there are no standard F-Function keys on the top row. Great battery life. Close to turn off...open to turn on. Surprised it had voice recognition the other day. I question if I should have gotten the Acer model $100 more that has touch screen.

This computer is incredible for the price. It is perfect for doing anything that is web based. I use it as a travel computer to take care of business from the road. Simple machine seems to equal less problems. It's also small which is nice. I just throw it in my backpack and go. It was exactly what I needed. Plus for the price if anything goes wrong I'm not terribly worried. I would recommend it to anyone who is on a budget or just needs a computer for web browsing. Plus... The fact that it is way cheaper than an iPad and most other tablets and is able to view any web site is convenient. I like the keyboard too. I've had an iPad and sold it because I felt it served no purpose. It was just a bigger iphone... Which I already have. Don't hesitate to buy this machine. Also it is amazing to sinc it up with google chrome on your iphone.

No regrets about the product, since I knew there's only so much a low-end laptop can do. Chrome OS is very nice, and if you are familiar with Google's various products and services (Drive, GMail, Android, etc), then you'll find yourself at home. It starts up in about 5 seconds, and a full charge seems to last me over ten hours (I charge it once every few weeks). The main issue with this product is that the keys on the keyboard aren't as responsive as I'd like, which means having to go back and correct mistakes and such. I do a lot of typing on, and although it's not a deal-breaker for me, it's definitely the only thing I'm not happy with.

I selected this as a fathers day present for myself when my wife was baffled about what to get me. I am one of those guys who has everything, and I am picky about what I buy. I have been looking at the Chromebooks since they came out and this model since it came out. When the chance came up to get one for "free" I jumped on it. The device is perfect for most of my casual needs like email, websurfing, the Google apps, etc. I hardly ever use my main computer anymore. It is not capable of some things, like AutoCAD Inventor 3D design, but so what Its fast, just the right size, works great, and I would much rather sit on the couch and surf the web with this instead of a tablet Buy it, you will like it!

I bought a Chromebook because I thought it would be a good choice for some of my less tech-knowledgeable family members but I wanted to try it out before I recommended it. Within a couple of days it completely replaced my iPad as my "play around on the internet" device. I have the latest iPad Air and this Chromebook totally kicks the iPad's butt when it comes to common web surfing. Have you ever tried to add a DVD to your Netflix queue on an iPad? It's so slow and frustrating that I end up going to grab a laptop, but it works perfectly on the Chromebook. It also works well with a Chromecast, so you can browse for YouTube or Netflix videos on your Chromebook and then watch them on a big-screen TV. On the downside, it's not very good for photo organization. It does have a memory card slot, but doesn't work well for cropping or touching up photos and isn't even very good for browsing photos. It can't completely replace a full laptop and isn't as good for games and photos as an iPad, but for $200 it's a total deal.

I bought this as a temporary replacement for my MacBook Pro (it somehow got water spilled on it). I didn't want to repair it ($600-800) and I couldn't afford a new one, so I bought the Chromebook thinking $200 wasn't a whole lot to bargain with - I could always return it. I'm wishing these had come out before I bought my $1300 MacBook Pro because I'm not all that intense of a computer user. I mainly need it to surf and I'm perfectly happy with the Chromebook.

Purchased in 2014. It has been my daily media consumption device, right next to my iphone. It works as well as when I first bought it. The only thing is the internal fan whines louder than when i first bought it. I finally upgraded to a touch screen chromebook in 2019, but not out of necessity. I couldn't say no to the great deals offered on Black Friday. I would still purchase this laptop again. Decent screen. Fast and Reliable.

I bought this chrome book for my father who is 73 years old and travels back and forth between michigan and Florida. It is light weight and easy to take anywhere. He can log into wifi and check his email or play solitaire. He uploads pictures and emails them out on his travels. We are also able to skype while he is traveling. So far this is the perfect solution for his needs, it's not a work computer by any means, just internet access and basic games.
