What an upgrade from my gen 3!

The new iPad Pro 11” is a beautiful tablet, with more power than the average user (like myself) will ever use, but I didn’t choose this tablet for its speed (the Air 3 is plenty fast enough and is several hundred cheaper), I picked it so I could use the new 2nd gen Apple Pencil (which is only supported by the new pro tablets) and for faceID technology (which works seamlessly, and makes things so easy!). The 2nd gen Apple Pencil: why would I pay several hundred more dollars for a pro tablet when the Air 3 (which is a fantastic tablet too!) supports the first gen Apple Pencil? After all, both pencils do basically the same thing - they write, beautifully. Because I planned on using my pencil a lot, and i didn’t want to deal with charging it hanging out of the lightening port on the Air or loosing its cap when I had to charge it. The 2nd gen Apple Pencil is charged by laying it along the edge of the pro tablet where magnets hold it tightly to the surface and the tablet charges it fast, keeps it safe and out of the way, and there is no cap to loose! FaceID: I still use an older iPhone 5s with Touch ID...and I like it...it works almost 100% of the time, but technology is advancing and faceID seems to be the direction things are heading in. I wanted to purchase a tablet that stayed ahead of the game since I keep my electronics so long, and the Pro offered that to me, plus the additional performance I may need in the years to come. Does it work? Yes it does. Even in the dark! I can use it to make purchases and it works nearly 100% of the time on first glance since it reads your face from any angle, as long as the camera is covered! The biggest differences I have noticed over my 3rd gen tablet are: 1.) weight. My 3rd gen tablet is a brick compared to the Pro!, but the new Pro 11” is slightly heavier than the Air 3. 2.) the speed with witch it launches apps and tasks, and 3.) the stutter on the screen when scrolling. I didn’t realize how bad that was on my older ipad unit until I compared them side by side. Wow, what a difference! This new tablet loads web pages and apps super fast, and doesn’t hesitate when I have multiple things open. The screen is gorgeous...but leaves rather unsightly fingerprints when the screen is dark (not noticeable when screen is lit). FYI’s....no more lightening port. The iPad Pro uses the all new usb-c port, which means it isn’t comparable with any of your old charging devices, but they make adapters, for a price. You can even use this tablet to charge your iPhone (but you need the adapter cord that connects usb-c to lightening. Just so you know, this new usb-c charging method is so much faster than lightening!!! Also, the Pro tablet eliminates the headphone jack, but for an additional $10 you can purchase a headphone jack adapter that goes into the usb-c charging port so your old headphones will work just fine. Complaint? For the cost, this tablet should come with a standard 515gb of storage, and they should throw in the headphone jack. There isn’t any protection to this tablet, so you will need a protective case to protect its vulnerable edges. Plus, the camera is not flush with the back. Overall, I love my new tablet and I am very pleased with my purchase!! It does everything I want it to, plus so much more. Plan on typing a lot? I recommend the Logitech Slim Folio Keyboard case...it’s awesome, and far cheaper than Apple’s Smart Keyboard and provides significantly more protection.

Great for taking notes in class when paired along with the apple pencil and for watching videos. The hardware in this device is incredible from display, to face ID, and the general speed of the iPad. Compatibility with websites is the only true limitation of this device for me some of the school programs such as pearson do not work as properly as they do with my laptop. This does require accessories to reach competing with a laptop such as the apple pencil and either any keyboard case or an external keyboard. The digital keyboard in my opinion is a pain to type on for more than a few sentences. Despite the flaws this device is a joy to use.

    My favorite iPad to date

i would say I've had more than 7 or 8 different iPads since they were originally introduced. I don't typically upgrade every year on them like i do the phones, but even though I just bought a 10.5" iPad Pro last year, I had to get the 11", primarily for one reason. The 2nd Generation Apple Pencil. Don't get me wrong, I love the USB-C, the liquid retina display, the new processor, Face ID, etc, but honestly the Apple Pencil charging on the side of the iPad as opposed to plugging it into the lightning port is huge for me. I use MyScript Nebo and Notability primarily for writing and it works just as good on this iPad. The additional real estate actually seems much larger to me than the 10.5", but it doesn't appear heavier at all. This thing is fast when playing games and doing graphics editing with apps like Affinity Pro, ProCreate, etc. I don't like the new location of the Smart Connector, that isn't as big of a deal to me as I typically don't use keyboards with my iPads and prefer to use a thin durable case instead. At the time of this review, there aren't a whole lot of good options available, but my favorite is the Otterbox Symmetry. This is a great case if you don't intend to use a keyboard. It will store and charge your Apple Pencil and if you don't use the pencil, the flap adjusts to securely close. All in all, this is my favorite iPad to date and unless they come up with some major improvements, I anticipate this being my last upgrade for a while. I would definitely recommend this.

This thing has amazed me since the moment I turned it on. It has the body of a thinner and far lighter Microsoft Surface, but with a screen and battery life that Microsoft can’t even touch. I have 18 iTunes purchased movies on this and haven’t even used half the space on it. The movies look and sound incredible. Colors are vibrant and I never thought I could get the sound quality in something portable. So glad I exchanged the 2017 iPad Pro 10.5” for this upgrade. This will make road trips more enjoyable. Only gripes is accessories aren’t readily available for it anywhere unless you live near an Apple store. 99% of apps also haven’t been updated to take full advantage the screen real estate available. I didn’t think Face ID would work smoothly, but surprisingly it does..better than on the iPhone X. Which is a relief as the Touch ID on the 2017 model was not very effective and smooth as on an iPhone. This is the product line upgrade I’ve been waiting for Apple to shock us with. *if you own an early MacBook Air, purchase a usb to usb-c cord if you wish to back it up with iTunes. I had to make a late night trip back.

All I can say is, “OMG!”

I’ve owned various iPad models, from the first model in 2011, to iPad Minis, and the first Pro 9.7” model in 2016. But this new iPad Pro 11” model? OMG!! Best iPad yet! Now, you may be thinking, “Well of course it’s the best yet, because it’s the newest and fastest one.” That’s true, but what makes this new model exceptionally nice is that the screen bezel is only about a quarter inch all around, considerably thinner than previous models, which means the overall size of the iPad is the same as the iPad that has a 9.7” screen, yet has an 11” screen! Another plus is the Apple Pencil 2, which magnetically attaches to the side and charges through wireless induction instead of the annoying method of having to uncap the lightning connector and inserting the pencil into the lightning port to charge. It also comes with an 18W USB-C fast charger, which plugs into the iPad’a USB-C port. That port will also allow you to plug in an external hard drive with a USB-C cable! The charger is the same one that’s included with the iPhone 11 Pro. Battery life is excellent. iPadOS 13 is great! If I were an octopus, I’d give this iPad Pro 11” model 8 thumbs up.

The Good: -Powerful and snappy performance -Face ID is more efficient and effective than finger ID -Speakers are louder and crisper -Lightweight -High resolution screen -Great for travel -New Smart Keyboard is better than previous generation as it protects the back of the iPad -New Apple Pencil 2 is better than previous generation since you charge on side of iPad -USB C is more universal of a connector -Beautiful design The Bad: -Expensive but powerful -No USB C to 3.5 mm headphone converter

This tablet is a great buy. I am a college student on a budget and was looking for something to be portable and easy to use. It feels very fast and fluid compared to older models I’ve owned. Apples ecosystem makes for this seamless transition between using applications on the iPad and iPhone which is useful. The only thing about this tablet I felt was a drawback was that you absolutely need to purchase a Bluetooth keyboard along with it. Apples keyboard along with the Apple Pencil was out of budget so I opted for the Logitech (Which is pretty much the same). I was always very skeptical of the Apple Pencil until I got to using it with my iPad. It may seem tacky and a bit unnecessary at first but I find it very useful when taking handwritten notes.

+Better camera (not a high hurdle). +Quicker. +Runs latest software with aplomb. +Extensive battery life. +Operates Apple Pencil. -Surprisingly heavy. -No “home” button takes time to get used to (I still haven’t). -Closing background windows can be challenging and feels inconsistent. -Did I mention it’s heavier than the past generation?

I upgraded from iPad 9.7" 2018 to the 11" Pro. The screen size is perfect, not adding more bulk to the size but taking advantage of the real estate without the home button. It takes a bit to get used to using gestures, but if you're familiar with iPhone X, it's the same. The sound quality of the speakers is unlike any other tablet. In fact, it sounds better than my laptop computer and phone. Face ID is a genius feature that makes it easy to access apps and accounts without typing in your password all the time. It works almost flawlessly. I love using the Apple Pencil 2 with it as well. If you are looking for a premium tablet, look no further. The iPad Pro is what you want.

I upgraded from my 2016, 9.7 inch iPad Pro. The screen is slightly larger, colors sharper, speed improved, speakers about the same and weight the same. The pencil and writing experience is much better, and the facial recognition is fantastic! The only downside is the price and cost of both the pencil & keyboard. I did initially buy a different keyboard/folio with Bluetooth connectivity, but ended up buying the Apple keyboard due to the weight. The Apple keyboard makes the iPad much lighter than the others I have tried. I did trade in my old iPad, as well as purchased this while on sale. I would have thought twice about upgrading to this if I paid the full price out of pocket. I also debated between the 12.9 and 11 inch models for quite some time. Decided to go with the 11 inch due to portability and ability to more easily use it while sitting in my car. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and plan to use it for a couple years.

After much research I went with the 2018 iPad pro instead of getting the 2020 because the differences were minimal and I saved over 150 as well as doubled the storage. With the savings, I put it directly towards apple care and I have a peace of mind in case my kids mess this up. I love iPads and my children are using my old ones. Right now there are 4 in my house, including the 2018 model. By far, the best screen and speakers out of the other models (10.2 iPad from 2019, iPad pro 9.7, and a iPad mini 2). The 2018 model is going to be compatible with all the new accessories for the 2020 model, including the floating keyboard that Apple made. This iPad is faster than my computer, has a better screen, sounds better, and literally can do my entire job off of this device. When my computer dies, I may not get a replacement and use this device solely as my computer. I do not have to worry about having to use PC software for my job so the need for a computer is not there. IF you need Photoshop or software that this device does not offer than DO NOT buy this if it is your intention. The battery life on this is phenomenal, like all other iPads. I use this as a work and a pleasure device. Gaming on this is the best, especially with the 120hz display. I can not go back to playing games on 60hz mobile screens. The speakers are rich and loud, often my wife tells me to lower this. I was able to bring this in my backyard WITHOUT the need for a Bluetooth speaker.

I will admit it... I m a apple fan boy. (Sue me). This however is not a fanboy review. This is a student reviewing his daily school device and a guy using it at work and reading on this before going to bed and typing this review on the iPad. Outstanding performance, battery life, form factor and quality. I just can’t help but to love this engineering marvel. Yes it is very expensive but if you want something cheap Samsung or Huawei have one for you but won’t one close In terms of performance or experience. If you can afford it this is the Device for you. Love it.

Everything works quickly and paired with the a rotating case it works in landscape and portrait veiw flawlessly. The pencil 2 is the bomb! I have only had an iPad mini before which I wasn't too thrilled with the limited screen space...my error. A couple of issues I have with this particular iPad is why I took off a star. One is it isn't on the list for Fitbit Versa and in fact will NOT pair ANYTHING bluetooth unless it's compatible if it's on and in close proximity nothing else will initially pair. I still haven't figured out how to turn the darned thing off so I have to carry it out of the area. This happened with the Fitbit and Kasa smart plugs pairing to iPhone 11. I understand that is not the case with the 12". I love the 11" size and am puzzled as to why the difference in tech between the 2 pros???? Not sure, but maybe I would have gone wirh the 12 had I known. Bummer.

This is a great update to the iPad Pro. I held off on the first generation iPad Pro and I’m glad I waited. Beautiful display, Face ID, and Apple Pencil 2 compatible. I tried the first generation Apple Pencil on my husband’s iPad and it is good but not like the new Apple Pencil. Love the fact I can take written notes and store them. I also like the magnetic charging capability of the Apple Pencil. I would highly recommend this iPad!

I was initially reluctant to pay the price for the ipad pro, but when best buy did black Friday offers I took the plunge. I already have the air 2 but compared to that this is much faster as you would expect with a much clearer screen. all I can say is I am pleased with it and it does as I ask smoothly and under ois 13.1 my other ipad is much more sluggish (thanks Apple)

I previously owned the 10.5 inch iPad Pro and debated for a long time whether or not to upgrade. After my old iPad Pro had touchscreen issues, I somewhat reluctantly got this iPad since I used it extensively for work. Overall, the most noticeable differences between the latest model and the 2017 model include the display, speakers and the performance. The display just seems more vibrant than the previous edition. The speakers get incredibly loud (louder than the 2017 iPad Pro), but I find that the music sound quality gets a bit distorted when listening near max volume (never experienced this on the 2017 model). Performance-wise, this iPad can handle everything. I've never experienced any lag when using it to draw, edit photos or perform data analysis. Overall, I think if you are considering to buy your first iPad Pro, I would highly recommend this one. However, if you currently have a 2017 iPad Pro, I would say that the incremental improvements are probably not worth upgrading. While the display, speakers and performance are noticeably better, I never really had any issue with any of those 3 components with my 2017 iPad Pro. Still, great tablet with an increasing amount of versatility that has almost completely replaced my laptop.
