This is the easiest router I've ever set up. Just connected cables and plugged it in and it set itself up. I don't own a Mac, but have an iPhone and iPad. It was a little weird using my idevices to interact with the router, but very convenient. The only problem I had was connecting my Wii. I had to look up on the internet for directions on how to do it. I have seen immediate results in higher speed and better range than my 2-year old N router. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

This is a great product. It increased the range of my wireless signal and drastically improved the speed than my previous access point provided by my internet service provider. Furthermore with the download of the free mobile app, set up and configuration was extremely easy which sets this apart from the competition. Definitely recommend.

I had been looking for a better wireless access for my cable internet when someone suggested I try the AirPort Extreme. I was hesitant. But after purchasing it and the easy install, I wish I had done it long ago. My wireless speeds increased, the range is incredible, and the setup is simple. You won't be disappointed. Apple did it again!

The Airport Extreme is a great product. It was very easy to setup and and increased both the range and speed of my wifi. I cant wait to try it with a new Macbook Air to show its true ac speed. As with all Apple products you pay a little more but the Quality is well worth it.

GREAT RANGE EXTENDED FOR HOME NETWORKS

I've used an Apple Airport Extreme for 5 years and when we moved into our new home which is more spread out than our old home was at first it seemed to work, though slow on downloads. My wife uses her Apple Mini IPad to read Library books so she needs to have a strong internet signal from our home network. We tried one Range Extender which simply didn't do the job. After talking with a Geek Squad member at Best Buy, when we returned to range extender that didn't meet out needs, he suggested the new Apple Airport Extreme and then to use my old Apple Airport Extreme as an extender. I couldn't seem to get it set up right so I called in Geek Squad. The young Geek Squad man got it set up quickly and then began moving my old Airport around to various locations and then checking it signal strength with my wife's Apple Mini IPad until he found the optimum location for the strongest signal. It turned out to be upstairs and now my wife can sit on the patio by the pool, or anywhere else in the house, and read her books on her IPad. Downloads to my Apple Notebook were noticeably faster and have remained so every since. Great products and a plug and forget system!

Very easy set up. Increased speed two fold and the range is incredible - my neighbors two houses over picked up my signal. Just be aware of the size of this router - it's HUGE. It's the size of a large brick and is heavy. Designed to stand vertically so make sure you have room. Otherwise, this is the best router on the market.

At first I was hesitant because of the cost, but having set this device up, it is spectacular. The setup only took a few minutes. I can have passwords for myself and family members in the home while setting up a guest password. The range is far superior to any router I've used otherwise and the speeds are ridiculously good.

Overall Awesome for long range fast WiFi speeds. Option to create a guest network with its own password and 2.4 or 5 GHz connection. Apple products are always top notch, but they always cost more. I have Xfinity performance and run anywhere from 30-45mbs on WiFi. I pair it with a Motorola SB6141 cable modem. A friend of mine bought a netgear router and is running very comparable speeds for half the cost, but not sure about range cause he lives in an apartment. My bro has same set up, but has Xfinity blast and runs ~100Mbs insane fast speeds. Only down side is during installation, they should tell you to expect an orange indicator light cause its needs to be configured, very small problem. Overall a great product.

The Airport Extreme has been refreshed by Apple fairly recently, and was at one point among the top few performing routers from any brand. Now, the sector has caught up and the Airport Extreme has been slightly surpassed on a strictly numbers basis by some of the other brands' flagship routers. The router is configured via app. The setup is very quick and easy. You'll have access to the majority of standard setup options, enough for most users to configure as needed, though you won't find some of the more advanced DDWRT-esque tuning options present. There is no web management interface, which was a questionable decision, though not a deal-breaker. Performance is very good. You'll get the latest 802.11ac wireless spec for any devices that are capable of using this new standard, and access to the legacy 802.11 standards for any devices which do not. My anecdotal experience finds the range to be considerably better than my previous 5ghz wireless-n router. The underlying hardware benchmark results are generally in-line with the competition, sometimes a little higher, sometimes a little lower depending on the specific test. The price is a little higher (though, same ballpark) than the competition but the fit and finish cannot be beat - this is a router that you can sit on your desk if you wanted rather than keeping it hidden. It has the performance to back up the price tag. If you value the simplicity and style that comes with an Apple product, I'd recommend this. If you are looking for the lowest price or access to more advanced tuning options, it may be best to check out the also very capable competition (Asus, Netgear, etc).

It was a breeze to setup the router, it took less than 5mins on my phone to setup and start working. We have a 2000sft house and router is situated in corner of the house and my home office is on the opposite corner, still got 100mbps out of 120mbps connection. I would recommend it anyone who is looking for a reliable WiFi connections, I have been using it over a month now without any issues and not a single drop connections and I have more than 10 devices connected at any given time without any issue.

I upgraded the router to replace an old Linksys. I bought a Linksys ac and brought it back because it got extremely hot. The Airport is great router. Easy setup, good range, and allows multiple devices in my home to run/stream really good. Happy with the product even though it is a little pricey.

Wow. This sucker is fast. I'd expect nothing less from Apple. (both in price and quality) I wish that this was about $100 cheaper and it would be amazing but its a great router and storage device. I'm not sure if they are still making these though but if you can get your hands on one, it'd recommend it. I use an Airport Express in tandem with this to make my wi-fi extend even further. Very easy to setup.

Having owned a plethora of wireless products, Apple's Airport line is by far the simplest to configure without sacrificing power and features. Unlike other routers that require logging into a local IP address with a rather cumbersome settings interface, Apple's Airport Utility (after necessary updates) easily identifies and walks the user through the process. Whether creating a new wireless network or bridging a new device to an already existing network, from novice to professional, the setup allows for fine tuning for those with specific needs. The router itself offers the current "ac" protocol for transfer rates as high as 1300Mbps. The plethora of antennas offer solid connectivity, ensuring excellent signal/noise ratio's within 2.4 and 5Ghz bands. The USB port allows for printer connectivity and with "Back to my Mac", logging into configured network systems is simple and secure.

This router is exactly what it says it is and does exactly what it says it does. It's strong with a wide signal range, it's reliable and doesn't break down on you, and it's very easy to set up and use. The design is also quite nice looking. Definitely a worthwhile product.

The Airport Extreme is as reliable as a home appliance. Once you perform the simple setup using your iPhone you basically never have to touch it again. If you use multiple Apple devices you can't find a better router.

I live in a large house built from concrete block material. So, the reach of the wireless access point included with my cable modem is quite limited, located as it is on the far side of my home. I chose the Apple Airport Extreme to extend wifi coverage and to allow direct ethernet connection for streaming to my smart TV. The Airport Extreme was easy to set up and configure, in my case, to create a second wifi network without NATing (DHCP passthru). The Airport Utility app runs on my iPhone, iPad and on my MacBook Air, providing a range of configuration options and status information (connected clients, connection quality, etc.), without the info overkill of other routers and long load times. Now my whole house has strong signal for all types of devices (not just those from Apple).

Automatically copied setting from an older airport. Super easy setup. Good coverage and signal. This is the fourth airport I've had and I love the setup. It's a little pricy but worth it especially if you have macs.

I have written many reviews on this so I will just get to the chase which is what everyone wants. I am in IT for 30 years, and this is what I buy as I can buy what ever I want and configure what I want. Bottom line is, setup is a no brainier (for anyone), it is powerful, but most of all above all other products for the home line, it is reliable. It is always up, and everything can connect to it. No hassles, no nothing, it just works. I have 2 of these, and have purchased a bunch of them for other home users. This is the one to buy regardless what devices you have at home.

I got this for my parents for Xmas since their dual modem/router given to them by Comcast was a piece of garbage. (Everything Comcast rents out to its customers is awful), so I had them take their Gateway modem/router back and just get a modem, and then I purchased this router since we all use Apple devices in the house. The Dual band capability of this product blew every router comcast had given us in the past away. It wasn't even close. Parts of the house where my parents could only get maybe 1 bar of wi-fi signal were suddenly getting full bars with lightning speed, and finally maxing out the bandwidth for which they were paying for each month from Comcast. Easy to set up, couldn't be happier.
