Nicely packaged, simplicity itself. A bit pricey, but all Apple stuff is. But it is a breeze to set up on first use, and after that it just sits there and works.

Fantastic design, power supply is built in so there is no Power Brick. The footprint is small so it takes up very little space, range is good, it's fast, and very easy to setup using the AirPort Utility. Not to mention you get 3TB of storage!!!

I've used just about every small scale network device in the last 20 years, and have had a home network since before wireless networking was available to the consumer. I used "NG" devices, then "LS" devices for the majority of the time, until recently when the new AirPort Extreme router came out, as well as the new Time Capsule. With the Time Capsule, I get NONE of the issues I had with any of my other/older routers. I get the max real-world speed you can get from it, and it always connects after a particular device upon awake. SOLID connection is the key. It doesn't matter what device I use (Android phone/tablet, Apple devices, Windows computers/laptops, XBox, etc.)
The Time Machine portion of the Time Capsule (the big hard drive) is great and all my Mac computers back up to it seamlessly. Setup is effortless.
The caveats...
Three network ports. Three (3). No kidding. If you have more than three network devices or locations/jacks in other parts of the house, you have to add a gigabit router. If it even had four ports, I would be set. This adds another Jackson or Grant (or even a Benjamin if you get a really nice gigabit switch) to the cost of the Time Capsule.
The cost is one of the larger complaints. However, it seems that most of the leading edge equipment from NG & LS is pretty expensive too. When you take the big internal hard drive into consideration, it's not too bad.
I don't feel that the lack of network ports is enough to demerit a full star, so if I had to give it an exact number, it would be more like a 4.8 out of 5, especially considering how well the wireless performs.

I use this as my router and time machine. It lets you wirelessly encrypt a backup and will work seamlessly with your Mac's OS to wake up from power naps. Setup wizard will get you started however; for advanced options you will find yourself searching the web for answers. Apple would do itself a big favor by including a digital reference manual with the product with a lot more detail. Overall, a great product.

Great reliable router with decent range. After buying this and setting it up with my mac as a backup HD and router, I was pleasantly surprised at the ease with which it took to get everything up and running. However, after delving into the router itself I found that it was a bit limited in its capability and in some ways think that if I had to redo it all I would stick to a linksys and just get a usb connected HD that I could still leave attached to the router. So, for sake of ease and the general public I would recommend this highly - for anyone with a bit of tech in them stick with linksys and then upgrade from there

If you are reading this, then you are wondering: "is this thing really worth the loot?!" It is. This bad girl extends a web of invisible digital delight over the entirety of our humble establishment. The lovely lady of the home can meow Netflix her pretty little booty off in the bed without me having to reboot the crusty old router and listen to her commentary on the buffering lag. It's a nice peaceful existence. Oh, and the backups? Oh yes this thing backs all that booty up and I don't even have to worry about it. Another cool thing, zippity zip an external drive into the USB on the back of this baby and get at it from any system in your house. I'm rocking a solid 6 TBs of storage from the bathroom. I haven't hooked into an Apple TV yet, but I understand these girls will play well together like a couple of shecats prancing around the savannah all mimbly pimbly happy like. So do it, and be happy right meow.

Super easy to set up. I used my iPhone and the Airport Utility app and it took 5 minutes, maybe less. Seamless backups for all 3 Macs in the house, much better wifi coverage than the wifi router it replaced. The 3TB capacity is huge. Occasionally I can hear the drive spin up but it is very quiet, not annoying.

It a good router in a small package and the 3TB storage has plenty of room for backup and storage.
The wireless range is very good provide full coverage around the house.
The only drawback is the pricey but I strongly recommend if someone looking for a solid router and backup built in. Quality and the design are stylus as What you would expect from an Apple product
