People who need a bigger sized phone would love this phone. It does everything that an iPhone X does with a different front camera and screen to be precise. I have used the iPhone X and the iPhone 7 Plus and I really like this phone better than the two. The camera and portrait modes are phenomenal and the screen with true tone display works brilliantly. The battery life is really a boon and can go for a full day without ever having to plug it in. The only downside would be the weight of the phone. The glass makes is super heavy but its adjustable. The phone is a great alternative and has the pracitcality of the home button that is missing on the iPhone X.

Huge Upgrade From the iPhone 6 Plus!

I recently decided to upgrade from my iPhone 6 Plus to the iPhone 8 Plus (Silver/White Combo, 256GB) as I had no intentions to wait for the iPhone X. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I have only had my phone for only a couple of days now but am loving every second with it! The battery life lasts all day, the screen quality/resolution is breathtaking, the wireless charging feature is great and the camera is absolutely amazing! All in all, one of my best purchases to date!

I have always been a Samsung/Android phone person. I was tired of my phone constantly crashing and getting those “viruses” plus the new update of the galaxy took away ALL the free music I acquired over the years so I was not happy. I already had ITunes and thought well maybe I should try an iPhone. We originally went in to get my husband a computer but I decided to just “look” at the phones while we were there. (Honey blame the associate for taking too long to get your computer) The guys in the phone department were awesome! They had the red iPhone 8 Plus which was the one I wanted and it was on SALE! (My favorite word) It was only 749 for the 256gb so I was all about trying it out. I don’t think I will ever go back to android phones ever again. I love this phone! Apple has always been known to be seamless and everything is wonderfully integrated and beautiful and I couldn’t be happier with it!

Last November I made the switch. Ever since modern smartphones began around 2007-2008, I'd been an Android fan. I had the original Droid from Motorola, then a couple of follow up Motorola models...I then bought an HTC 8 which I loved, a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge which I loved, with some caveats, then after ten years of Android, I made the switch to iPhone! What made me change? I bought my wife her first smartphone recently; an iPhone 6s. Setting it up for her I immediately noticed the jewel like quality of the device; the hardware. Playing with the phone I also noticed the flawless and seamless operation of the iOS. I was mesmerized. THIS was a great phone. Even though I had a few months left until 2 years was up on my Galaxy S7 edge, I went into Verizon's store and made the switch. It's been almost ten months and the novelty of the iPhone still hasn't worn off. It's simply the best phone I've ever owned. I chose the iPhone 8 4.7 inch screen for it's size. The camera is fabulous and the operating system is so smooth. I own an iPad so it wasn't a total surprise but there are no more Android jutters and flaws. I didn't get the iPhone X because I love the perfection of Apple's fingerprint sensor. I love the home button and to my eye there wasn't a huge difference in display quality, since Apple knows how to make a GREAT LCD screen. I used to like all of the customization available on Android but Apple now has Google Calendar (which I love) and third party swype-type keyboards, which are a must for me. Apple lets the user customize much more than previously. I love getting my iTunes music library on my phone now too. I guess I'm an iPhone fanboy for life now. This iPhone 8 is the very last iPhone of this perfect size and a home button. Rumor has it Apple is working on an under-screen fingerprint sensor for it's 2019 iPhones and I may upgrade to the iPhone 12 then but for now, the iPhone 8 with it's wireless charging, good battery life, smooth operation, great camera and super high quality construction is my best phone ever! You cannot go wrong with this

Best Phone I ever had from android user for 8 yrs.

When I first got this phone I had to get use with all the navigating from an android user for 8yrs. I would only hade one or two problem with it compare to android that freezes on me every hour of using it, my apps would crash, at a point where I get annoyed using my android phone. So, I tried to switch to apple and see whats up. I would say Im glad I did try this. I love the camera, the selfie camera not so much, I like the wide angle camera on my previous phone(samsung s6). The system runs really smooth with the A11 bionic chip. I use a lot of apps on my phone for many reasons and this iphone handles it all well. Overall, I think Ill stick with this phone for a little while untill another device comes up that I think worth switching.

I was interested in upgrading my iPhone and went to Best Buy to explore my options. The Best Buy Tech person listened to my needs and ran comparisons of the 7, 8 and X models where I wound up choosing this 8 Plus phone and am very happy with it so far. The set up and integration to my current cell account was quick and seamless. The transfer of my data to the new phone was quick and painless and the credit I received for the turned in iphone was a big plus. So far I'm very satisfied with the new phone's battery live, screen size, resolution and very fast processor speed. The camera is excellent for both photos as well as video. I would recommend Best Buy if anyone is interested in upgrading their iPhone!

Amazing features on the camera! I wish there was a guide of how to get the most out of your phone when you switch to a new one! I had some problems setting it up, the light is like a beacon for boats while sweating it up and the process took over a half hour and I switched fro and iPhone 6s w only 16 gbs so there wasn’t much to do. It has updated 3xs already and I’m learning as I go but a tutorial would be great to come w the phone. I am sad that you don’t provide the charging split to charge and have head phones if need be but I guess everything cost money. The water proof feature is nice but I am scared to try it even w a life proof case on. I do have problem w getting reception and late texts messages I am told they sent it previous. And I can be sitting in the same place and have two bars and a minute later I look up and there are four bars and I have Verizon which is prominent in our area... told there isn’t a resolution that just happens sometimes. I hate that they took away the keyboard feature to double click caps lock to keep capital letters going! The lighting is crazy on this I’m sure if a zombie apocalypse happens I can keep them away! Camera is great processing seems slow at times but told that must be cell service so I’m confused which it really is. I love my iPhone either way and wouldn’t ever go back to android. I have a ton of storage now too! With a case it’s hard to hear and sometimes they can’t hear me too but being told that’s the case... maybe we need more volume or a setting that you have a case on it.... hmmm only other thing is the pricing for these is sooooo expensive by now you must have constantly reused some designed parts that shouldn’t cost so much to roll out new ones! I’m glad I won a certificate at Best Buy to pay for most of it! Otherwise I never buy new wait a year and it $3-400 cheaper.

I actually upgraded to the 8 Plus after saying I was keeping my 7 Plus. However it is a great upgrade even from the 7 Plus. Wireless charging, tru tone display and AWESOME battery life. It’s well worth the upgrade. It’s also much faster. If you have anything before a 7 you definitely wouldn’t be disappointed. I did try the X but did not like the size so I stuck with the Plus models. Best Buy gave me $400 for my 7 Plus in store credit that I put towards my 8 Plus. I cut my monthly payment down to $19. I’m on Verizon and I love it. Happy with my 8 Plus for a couple years.

Oh this phone is snappy! Going from the SE to the 8 is pretty nice. Yes there is no plug in for headphones, the 8+ has more features but it comes with earphones with a lightning connector. It even comes with plug in for earphones that will never get used. 5 watt adapter. I think apple could send some more extras but oh well. Typing with one hand kind of sucks but oh wait there’s a feature for that I can have the keyboard on one side. The phone is heavier though. It feels really nice and smooth. I got a bulky case for it. I’m thinking a screen protector and a skin case would feel more comfy. I feel like the phone is more comfy without a case. Set up is a breeze with another apple device. Of course this phone was still on iOS 11 I’m guessing it would’ve been a much more smoother set up on iOS 12. iOS 11 was pain. 12 runs smooth even on my husband’s 5s. I was worried the screen would be just a slight bigger and I might hate it. I think the plus might be a bit too big unless maybe with the right case. Gaming and videos work good for me for this screen size. I was hoping I could set it on the counter and watch it I’m not sure about that. Speakers sound great. The home button is different I’m not sure if it’s good or bad. Overall I like it a lot

The Good Fantastic dual-lens camera shoots better than ever with improved portrait mode. Adds wireless charging. Lightning-fast speed. Starts at 64GB. Best battery life in current iPhone line. The Bad Dated design. Lacks some of the extra iPhone X camera features. Large body makes it hard to hold. The Bottom Line The iPhone 8 Plus is a great phone with a spectacular camera that offers a lot of what iPhone X has under the hood, but in a lot less exciting body.

Bought this for someone after owning 6s and it is excellent! Wanted bigger letters to type text messages. Colors are great and it is fast. Great clarity on phone. Only drawback is no headphone jack. Same size as iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 7 Plus and same cases can be used on all of them. Good battery strength and charges quickly. Comes with AC adapter and headphones with lightning adapter, instead of headphone jack, and lightning cable.

I have had a number of iPHONES over the years. This one replaced my iPHONE 7. I am glad I replaced it. 1) Camera on the plus is awesome and well worth the additional cost. I am getting great images and video with it. 2) It is FAST! I thought the 7 was fast. A snail compared to this one. LOL 3) Screen has great clarity.

I have been waiting for an upgrade for years! I had the iPhone 6 Plus for almost 3 years and this phone is far better. The dual cameras on the back shoot some beautiful pictures. Speakers are far better. and the A11 Bionic chip is crazy fast! The thing I like most is the color! I initially wanted the space gray, but they didn't have it in stock so I got the silver. Very very satisfied. It is a slick looking phone.

4.0 stars- knocked off one star because of the price! It really deserves a 5 Star... but the price... ouch! I upgraded from 6 plus to 8 plus and LOVE how much faster it is and the battery charge lasts so much longer too! The camera is better and takes great pictures! Learning more and more of the updates to this model. I’m sold on Apple products (I own the I Pad, iPods, and iMac) and they sync perfectly together. My only drawback... the price! I just wish they weren’t so EXPENSIVE!!! Each year the price goes up by ALOT. So therefore I don’t upgrade until I absolutely have to.

I've had this phone now for a couple of months and now feel comfortable reviewing this. I previously came from an iphone 6, not the plus, so this was a bit of an upgrade for me. I love the size first of all... it really does make viewing anything in it quite a pleasure and I see more information per page now versus the standard iphone size. Compared to the iphone 10... I believe the features to mostly (95%) be the same. Sure there is no button anymore but I believe that I am able to open my phone faster than the X simply due to the fingerprint sensor. In comparison, the X does look great as the absence of the button does make it look more minimal and "technologically advanced". I guess if you really wanted the better resolution but not the size of the phone as I have heard many people say that they can't get the plus due to its sheer size, then get the X. Still, I could not justify the extra $200 for the X... nor the wait at the time. I'd like to think that these days most of these phones are comparable. The things I mostly value in a cell phone in this day and age include the following: battery life, charging time, texting, and email. I'd say most cell phones are capable of high ratings in those departments. Because for me the plus provided the largest battery life, I got it and have been extremely satisfied with it. Other than a couple other things, which are due to software updates and such, I believe this phone to perfectly fulfill my needs.

A present for our daughter who is extremely happy with everything about the phone. Upgrade from a 6S. If you're into the Apple system it's probably the best phone for the money they have now unless you want the size of the 8A. It's about time they incorporated wireless charging! Speed, screen graphics, memory size options are excellent. A bit more expensive than I'd like to have paid but oh well.

    Best iPhone Yet

My son was still using a flip phone, and for a variety of reasons, I wanted to get him a smart device for his telephone, texting, and data needs. I had a year-old iPhone 7 Plus, myself, and was itching to upgrade, and so I decided to hand my 7 Plus down to him and purchase either an iPhone X or iPhone 8 Plus for myself. I considered the X, but was turned off by the loss of the fingerprint sensor for awakening/unlocking the phone; I am a long distance runner who often has my iPhone strapped to my left arm. Having to look directly at the phone to unlock it while running seemed like a non-starter in that situation. It also seemed like having to look directly at the phone to unlock it would prove difficult if one often finds oneself trapped in never-ending meetings and if, during such occasions, one would like to sneak a peek every now and then at one's e-mail or fire off a quick text without anyone noticing. And so I opted for the 8 Plus. I have not regretted it. While there are a number of differences between the 7 Plus and the 8 Plus, two great differences stand out for me. First, the 8 Plus has a higher storage capacity than its predecessor. And second, the 8 Plus has "wireless" charging. Both are features that I make great use of now that I have upgraded to the 8 Plus. With respect to the "wireless" charging, I wound up purchasing three wireless charging devices (one for my bedroom, one for my home office, and one for my work office). Once those devices are plugged into an outlet, one simply places ones iPhone in the charging cradle, and the phone begins charging without the necessity of plugging the phone into a lightning cable. The charging occurs even when the iPhone is in a protective case (I have a leather case). I even have found the wireless charging convenient in a few airports since I bought the 8 Plus. I think it was Atlanta's airport that had a wireless charging mat. Or was it Houston's? As for whether the iPhone 8 Plus is more responsive than the 7 Plus or has longer battery life, if so, I didn't notice it. Would I recommend to a friend? Well, certainly if this would be his or her first iPhone, if it would be replacing a non-Plus model, or if it would be replacing a model made before the iPhone 7. But if you already have an iPhone that is working well, if you are not running out of space on it to store your apps and data, and if wireless charging is not something important to you, it would not likely be worth the extra money to get the 8 Plus.

I am fluent in both languages (Android & IOS) I have to admit. The IOS is very user friendly, but cannot be customized like most Androids. The IPhone 8 is no exception. In order for you to customize your own ring tones, you must hook it up to your PC or MAC. I imagine everyone knows this. The iPhone 8 has the same dimensions as the iPhone 7, except it’s faster. I upgraded from an iPhone 6S. The one thing I must admit I do not like is how the home button feels. The 6S at least had movement. I guess this is the price you pay for water resistance. I heard people complain about the lack of an earphone jack. No big deal. Apple includes an adapter that fits in place of the lightning adapter. What I can see why some people complain is you cannot charge the phone & listen to music at the same time. Until Apple releases such an adapter that can do both, just grin & bear it. Most people use Bluetooth headphones or connect to the vehicle. I don’t see why so much fuss. Anyway, yes, the phone is exceptional. I also own a Galaxy Note 8. The Note 8 is as good as the IPhone 8. Both are super quick. I have used the “Antutu benchmark app” on the IPhone 8 and the Note 8 for comparison. Here are the results: IPhone 8 plus: 128052 Galaxy Note 8: 165930 As you can see, both are phenomenal smart devices. Both are a tiny computer in your pocket. If you worry about customizations, then the IPhone is not for you. However, if you can live with without customizing ring tones, then the IPhone 8 is your weapon of choice. Matter of fact, if you so choose to purchase the IPhone 8, then go with maximum storage. I believe you can purchase the iPhone 8 with 64gb or 256gb, either with 2gb Ram. I’m not sure about 128gb. Interface. The new interface is somewhat different. It seems more “Colorful“, some of the icons appear different & from experience, not all apps you had on the previous interface will work with the new IOS. Matter of fact, Swan Digiview will not work with the new IOS. The developer had to update their software to be compatible with the new version. Let’s talk about security. Nothing like biometrics. I will not use face recognition. Your face expression must always be the same after you setup your device the first time. The Galaxy Note 8 has a familiar security feature. Iris reader. I’ve set it up on my Note 8. What a pain in the you know what!!! You must look at the camera at the same angle every time to unlock the device. Also lighting has a lot in play. If the lighting & the angle is not the same, you’ll need to open your device a different way. Also, allegedly, anyone can unlock the device using a picture of you? I don’t know, I cannot give a definitive answer. What I can attest is the fingerprint reader is as good as the previous one with the IPhone 6S. Flawless. This is all I have for now. I hope it may answer a question or two.
