I replaced a 17" dell inspiron from 2001 with this and I have no regrets, it is super fast and plays skyrim 5 on max settings with no problem at all. I would buy this again with no reservation. This g751 jy ( last years model ) has the nvidia 980m video card which is an outstanding video card.

This is supposed to be a gaming laptop, but it doesn't play Dark Souls. Other than that it is ok. Really heavy.

My first Asus finally died from old age. There was no reason to leave the brand. I love the oversized screen and the keyboard is very comfortable. And the built in number pad is essential for my work.

Holy cow this thing is sweet. The screen is huge and clear. The keyboard is nice and roomy. Performance so far has been spectacular. Desktop like performance that is reasonably portable. I take it with me only when I am specifically going to game with friends and at that point i don't care how heavy it is. Pretty solid machine and it looks really nice in person, i'm kinda of a sucker for the crimson red vents on the back :)

This is a beautiful and well equipped machine (On paper). Unfortunately it is very flawed. I never write reviews, but I read them all the time before buying something. The issues I found with this model and a few other ASUS products are the same common issues found throughout many of their products unfortunately. The programs installed on it and windows 10 are taking away from there quality parts and killing it. I ordered mine and was very happy to finally have it and appreciated the looks and all. Then I quickly found out the numerical pad buttons got stuck when trying to type with them on a regular basis. Mouse track pad issues, even with countless BIOS updates and firmware updates, driver updates etc... It boots up in a legitimate 2 seconds, but gives issues installing certain programs. Internet explorer wouldn't open and search properly, nor would google chrome. It kept coming up as can't display web page. For a computer nearing $2,000, there shouldn't be this MANY issues. I returned it immediately and am very disappointed with ASUS for the second time. First time was with their upper desktop model. I couldn't recommend it for its actual functionality. On paper its great, but it doesn't execute things a simple cheap laptop could do. Its a combination of windows 10 (sucks) and maybe being too quickly manufactured. This model for those that don't know actually came out in October/November of last year, not 2014. This is a bunch of left over parts put together and sold with the same last gens body. Its again quality parts, but bad manufacturing of the laptop and software to go with it. I would go with the newer model when the gtx 980m model comes down in price as this has. the gtx 970m video card will definitely not future proof you for too much longer. My blabbering has ended....
