It turns the iPad into an "almost" laptop well. The metal cover can scratch easily, so be careful. I suppose you could put a clear skin on it. The keys are not illuminated, but I find with the light from the display you can see the keys in dim situations. After the first bluetooth pairing the keyboard connects as soon as you put the iPad into one of the three magnet slots. Pretty slick. Build quality is great, the plastic is high gloss black so it shows fingerprints well. If you are looking for an iPad keyboard this is it, stop looking.

This purchase was for my husband's iPad because I loved mine (purchased a few months ago) so much. Easy setup, charge lasts months, and my favorite feature is that you can fold it back to a handheld when you don't need the keyboard and quickly set it back up when you do. It's a little heavier than with a regular case but well worth it for the positives.

I got this case for my boyfriend for his birthday. He loves it. It has long battery life, its very light weight, and the different postions make it great for different applications. Love that it know when it is open and closed and works well with screen protectors. Would spend the money again.

I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a keyboard for the iPad. Very comfortable to hold and very portable. excellent for you for taking notes at meetings.

This iPad is very easy to use and to carry. I am very happy that I purchased it. It takes very good pictures.

I did a lot of research on cases with built-in keyboards for our iPad, and this is the best one, by far. - Automatic power on, when case is placed in "keyboard" position - Automatic off, after 10 sec of inactivity - Excellent battery life - BEST design in being able to flip the case around and utilize in "tablet" position. Admittedly, it's not perfect, but it really is the best I have seen. I love this model so much that I bought one for my father's wife, and after testing it thoroughly, I also bought one for us. I give this 5 out of 5 stars!

I watched the reviews on the key boards and this had the best reviews. So I went with this one and it paid off. This is as good or better than the reviews.And haven't had any trouble with the Ipad staying in position once you set it.I have the iPad with Retina and it fits great with no problems.

Makes it easier to use as a mini-laptop. The keyboard is a great convenience .

Do not buy this.I bought mine and it never would charge, so the only way to use it was to keep it plugged in at all times. And if you even looked at it wrong it would fall off its stand.Needless to say, it was returned.

Bought this for my son and it is perfect for his iPad. Keyboard is stronger than I expected.

This is the closest thing to turning your iPad into a laptop alternative.

Just picked this up today after waiting for it to get in store so I could see it in person versus buying online. Really like the design of the case and the ability for the keyboard to recognize when and when not to turn on based on connections to the magnets. I've used others and have either had to take the iPad out of the protective case or the keyboard. So, it's nice to be able to fold the keyboard underneath the iPad given that it turns off and can't accidentally press any keys. No more having to remember where I left my keyboard last. Only slight drawback would be a little bit of a learning curve getting used to the keyboard since the keys are slightly cramped, but not a big deal.
